It’s a wide-open edition of the stallion making Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m), with a few talented fillies holding prominent positions in the market and looking to upset the party.
Let’s take a look at each and every runner lining up in the $1.5 million contest…
1 – Farnan – $6 ???
Possibly the biggest key to the race, with multiple question marks surrounding the Golden Slipper winner. Has he improved from his two-year-old season? Is he back from his Run To The Rose failure and his mystery illness? He looked like the best colt in Australia heading into the preparation and at his best can win, but who knows? Goes in everything and is a chance.
2 – Wild Ruler – $6.50 ???
Has been in outstanding form this preparation and is looking to complete a hattrick of wins. The only knock is he hasn’t come up against the absolute A Graders, but has taken care of Doubtland. Is another big chance and must be included.
Could we see Wild Ruler in next week's #TABEverest? He certainly impressed today, winning the Roman Consul with ease for @SnowdenRacing1! pic.twitter.com/2xJacFATLF

3 – Mamaragan – $126
Hasn’t looked like the same horse from his very strong juvenile campaign, with the price telling the story.
4 – Glenfiddich – $16 ?
Looked one of the better picks for the Caulfield Guineas before his preparation was interrupted, and now finds himself back to the 1200m in what has to be an afterthought. It’d be some training effort by Moody if he won this, left field chance.
5 – Ranting – $17 ???
Got his head in front down the straight in the Danehill then had a look around and was too green to win, but proved his ability winning the three-horse Blue Sapphire last start. Massive chance and a big price.
What a spectacle!

6 – Doubtland – $19 ??
If we were getting wet ground his price would just about be halved, class galloper who took care of Ranting down the straight earlier in the preparation. Has to be a chance even with the expected Good 4, and is a must for exotics.
7 – Anders – $10 ?
He looked a star of the spring when he made a mess of them in the San Domenico Stakes, and then was turned over at a short price in the Blue Sapphire Stakes after an interrupted few weeks. At his best can win, but have a few ahead of him due to the stop start preparation.
8 – Holyfield – $41
Think he’s running into quite a few that will just be too smart for him on the day.
9 – Extra Time – $101
Winning a BM75 at Morphettville and then winning a Coolmore the next start would be some effort. Not here.
10 – Our Playboy – $51
Won the Vain Stakes against a few of these earlier in the prep, and has been unsighted since his disappointing run in the McNeil Stakes. Running into a few too many in-form, and probably more talented.
Super performance from Our Playboy to annex the G3 @NedsAus Vain S. at Caulfield. A 61st stakes winner for Sebring, Our Playboy was sold by Widden Stud for $210,000 at the 2019 Gold Coast @mmsnippets Yearling Sale and now has 3 wins from 5 starts. pic.twitter.com/paR2F7lGY7

11 – Flying Award – $26 ?
Was the favourite in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude before having an abnormal respiratory noise and falling out of the race. Is a talented colt, Oliver retains the ride, and could be a knockout chance at odds, certainly worth including in exotics.
12 – Swats That – $9
The first of the fillies, she beat Muntaseera last outing and has been running well against her own sex. This is a massive step up, and at the skinny quote, I’m happy to be against her.
13 – Muntaseera – $27 ??
Was close in the market behind Swats That last start, and we’re getting a massive price this time around that looks overs to me. Goes in exotics and could surprise.
The future looks bright for smart filly MUNTASEERA ☀ @yarramanpark @cmaherracing @eustacedj pic.twitter.com/4dvWaxvo90

14 – September Run – $4.20 ??
The favourite in a very open edition of the Coolmore Stud Stakes. Has had two looks down the Flemington straight for two wins, and can’t knock what she’s done. Is obviously a massive chance, but up against the boys, think it’s best to back a few roughies rather than backing the truck up and just backing her.
Tip: 2-5-1-13
? = Must Watch
? = Big Winning Chance
?= Worth Including in Exotics
