The second Group 1 of the Ascot Carnival is upon us, with a capacity field of 16 assembled for the $1 million 2020 Winterbottom Stakes (1200m).
Godolphin’s Trekking is the overwhelming even money favourite, after strong performances in the Moir Stakes, The Everest, and the Manikato Stakes so far this preparation.
Local hopes Indian Pacific and Celebrity Queen are the only other runners in single figures, in a Winterbottom Stakes that possibly lacks the quality of recent years due to the lack of flights available to horses from the eastern states as a result of COVID-19.
