Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, October 5, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Another healthy midweek Wednesday card which continues to support the excellent programming we have on offer of a Saturday throughout the Spring carnival.

Once again we can expect rain affected tracks at Canterbury, Ipswich and Sale. But that has been the norm for as long as punter’s care to remember now, so we have plenty of data to work off which hopefully translates to plenty of winners.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, October 5.

Sale, Race 1 – 6. Squad ($3.80)

Forget it went around last start.

Bombed the start, rider dug it up to improve and it got too keen on him.

Never got within a viewing distance of the inside rail, was all over for him at the 600m.

He’s much better than that. As is evident by his first up win, and the 6th beaten less than 4L in the McNeil behind Jacquinot and Aft Cabin.

That is very good form for this. If he steps with them, you can basically get in the queue.

Canterbury, Race 1 – 6. Ring Ahoy ($2.25)

Happy to stick with this vein of form we have tapped into over the last month around Stylised and Rediener.

It has produced multiple winners for us on this page in the past few weeks and this Waller gelding has run some nice races in behind them.

Luckless at a key stage behind Rediener, and then had to go back and come widest from the bad draw last start. Should have finished closer.

Draws the two here, gets McDonald, appears to handle the ground, and hits the 1580m fourth up after boxing on his past two at 1400m.

Top weight looks the main danger but happy to go with this bloke with a nice weight pull.

Connections are entitled to feel a bit stiff here.

Looked an absolute moral at Kembla on Saturday before that meeting fell over. Then they scratched from a bad draw at the public holiday meeting at Warwick Farm on Monday.

This is by far the hardest race of the three, but far from being a ‘Plan C’ I think we can be buoyed by the fact John O’Shea thinks he must be going well enough to win in town to opt to come here as there are other, easier races around for him.

His first up run certainly indicates as much. He is paying a bit of a price for his consistency but they have wisely claimed with Reece Jones.

Drawn well, loves the going and that extra bit of ground, and the 1250m shouldn’t pose any issues.

Big watch on the #2 but happy to go with the in-form O’Shea stable with the claim and the run under his belt.

Canterbury, Race 7 – 10. Shohei ($2.70)

Banking on this lightly raced mare to make the leap from maiden company into BM72 midweek grade.

Not many do it, but this stable definitely has the best record at it, and she does look to have a lot of quality about her.

Trialled really well into her first up run and was far too good for them. I suspect both the place getters out of that race will be winning very shortly.

Sat outside the lead and never in doubt there, winning relatively untouched over the final stages and still clocking 36.06 home after over racing early on a day where they weren’t exactly breaking any records.

Only the stakes performed Duchy of Savoy and Loch Eagle won with better closing sections. And she went a full second quicker than the winner of the next in a comparable race to this.

That tells us she is right up to this. Short enough but certainly good enough.

Ipswich, Race 6 – 6. Palazzo Spirit (N/A)

*This horse has since been scratched.*

Four starts, two wins, one over the smart and now exported galloper Golden Artie, the other  coming in the Listed Phelan Ready Stakes.

Talented, but has obvious issues. Just the one start since Boxing Day last year. Sat deep and knocked up late in his only trial.

If he finds his best here, he will blow this lot away. From a family that consistently produces high quality gallopers. A lot of question marks, but worth an each way play if you are in front.
