We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, October 4, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Public holiday racing on Monday in Sydney and Metro racing on Sunday in Melbourne has diluted the talent pool a little this week compared to what we have seen in recent weeks but there are still winners to be found and the theme is ‘cream rising to the top’ this Wednesday.

After a big day Saturday finding two Group 1 winners on top at juicy odds, we have again gone for value here and the majority of our picks are for horses that have shown quality in the past, and look like they are ready to get the hoof in the till again.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, October 4.

Kensington, Race 1 – 6. Princess Mary ($8.00/$2.40)

Fairly thin looking race which is indicative of the meeting itself with a public holiday metro meet sucking up a bit of this kind of cattle on Monday.

Very hard to fault this mare having run two 2nds from 2 starts and really like the idea of going 1400m first up with her.

She was wayward on debut which is not unusual for experienced horses trying to get around Hawkesbury.

Then looked home 2nd start when she kicked clear at the top of the straight but the step from 1300m to 1500m with 5 weeks in between, coupled with a heavy track, and a decent enough galloper in The Englishman chasing her down just proved too much late.

A couple of 1000m trials where she’s just been niggled at to stay with them but then done it under her own steam in the run home once she got to them. The 1400m first up is the right move.

Rachel King sticks off the trials, draws good. Thin race. Plenty of ticks.

Kensington, Race 3 – 5. Greece ($5.50/$1.85)

Fraught with danger this one but I’m going out on a limb and saying I think they might have her back somewhere near right.

Loving Gaby’s little sister looked to have the world at her feet early on in her career but has essentially been a flop up until this point.

A good spell, then two very quiet trials, I thought there was enough in her first up run over 1100m, for a horse that clearly wasn’t fully wound up, to suggest she is ready to go now.

They’ve clearly been sounding her out and monitoring her issues. The fact they have dual accepted tells you they think she is ready to roll.

Definitely good enough to win this if she’s right. She’s been brought along steadily and could be headed back to Saturday grade with a good win here.

A sense of timing about her.

Kensington, Race 6 – 9. Sawrey

*This horse has since been scratched.*

A very handy galloper when right.

Resumed after a long lay off at Kembla, dragged back to 2nd last and allowed to finish off which he did very strongly down the crown of the track.

Not at all shocked to see them bring him to town off the back of that run.

Ran Yoshino to a neck on a wet track early on in his career, then finished in front of Aft Cabin his next start on the same surface.

The stable generally gets it right when they come to town and there is rain forecast.

Huge odds.

Kensington, Race 7 – 2. Disneck ($10/$3.30)

He’s going really well this horse.

Trialled nicely leading into his first up run before pulling up with a minor issue there.

Went back to the trials and given a quiet time then given a conservative ride at Warwick Farm and allowed to finish off which he did strongly behind the smart Balkans.

Plenty of tempo on paper here, and expect if they ride him similarly he can feature in the finish with the claim off his back.

Looks ready to pull out a run.

Ipswich, Race 8 – 9. Brasco ($4.20)

Waller trained gelding who broke through last start after being in the QLD system for a while.

Franked the form out of the strong Flag Hall, Action King maiden.

By Street Boss so the step to 1350m suits especially going on the way he found the line last time out, drawn well, Jimmy Orman, looks to be a progressive type.

More upside than most of these.
