We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, May 24, and provided our best horse racing tips.
A tricky looking card on paper, and I expect if we can hit on three out of five we will finish a long way in front.
We’ve ventured to Canterbury in Sydney, Sale in the Gippsland of Victoria, up to Doomben where we find a +6.5m rail on track that has taken plenty of racing of late, and then back down to Balaklava on the provincial circuit in SA.
Fairly moderate fields of well tried horses at this time of year so we have narrowed our focus on the maiden races and the progressive horses at each of these venues.
We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, May 24.
Sale, Race 1 – 7. Espressiva ($7.50/$2.35)
Very speedy filly by one of the best speed sires in Bel Esprit.
She has cleared out and given them something to catch in each of her jump outs and I imagine she’ll do much the same here.
Draws nicely for her debut, and the stable are enjoying a good season.
Worth a thought at good odds in a wide open affair.

Canterbury, Race 1 – 7. Wezza ($5.50/$1.85)
Bombed the start in her first trial so forget she went around.
The stable thought enough of her to travel down from Newcastle for a metro trial her next start and she was vastly improved, driving through to lead and win untouched in smart time.
Adkins has ridden on both occasions and sticks here, and these don’t look a particularly forward bunch of late season 2YO’s.
Expect her to run well, and you’ll secure a good price on account of the unfashionable stable and jockey.

Balaklava, Race 1 – 5. Little Bit Chai ($10/$2.60)
Two nice runs over shorter courses to kick off her career.
Goes to the 1,050m after boxing on solidly from the back her past two.
Looks the one most likely out of this lot.

Canterbury, Race 2 – 12. Brave Agenda ($6.50/$2.40)
The stable thought enough of this filly to resume her in a high quality 2YO race in Brisbane.
Nice form out of that with the winner going on to claim the Ken Russell Classic at its next start.
They are a good judge of horse flesh this barn, and I think they have made their intentions very clear with noted strong on pacer rider Tim Clark to take over from a good draw here after being a little wayward under Angela Jones last start.
Another very open race but always happy to back one of the Team Price runners when they bring them to town.

Doomben, Race 3 – 1. Bettcha The Crown ($1.85)
I think he’s the best horse in the race, he just needs some luck from a horror draw.
Appears gritty enough to roll forward and hold these out with the short run home around Doomben and a +6.5m rail.
The engagement of Jimmy Orman in circumstances such as this is a big help.
Hasn’t had much luck in his runs to date, but I think they can change that if they take matters into their own hands here with a positive ride.
