Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, March 8, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Steering away from the 6m rail position on the well worn Sandown Lakeside circuit, and looking to cash in on a good track at the Randwick Kensington circuit which does its best racing when it is in or near the true and the weather is fine.

If all else fails, we think we’ve found a first starter at Doomben which we’ve made our best of the day, at a fairly run of the mill midweek card around the country where we are realistically looking to build a bank for the big weekend ahead.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, March 8.

Randwick, Race 1 – 2. Gago ($6.00)

We made him our best bet last Wednesday before he was scratched race morning, and I’m happy to go again here.

Not as confident coming back to 1400m, and on the Kensington, and with Prebble on for the white hot Zac Lloyd, but he looks ready to run a race and can account for a few of the usual suspects here.

Imagine they’ll go back from the draw and utilise the longer run home rather than try and bustle him to be there on the corner like they did at Canterbury.

Hoping he can mow them down late.

Randwick, Race 2 – 1. Capital Heart ($3.00)

Certainly doesn’t look to be any superstar 2YO’s debuting here with most of the crack colts already up and about for the Autumn.

So we are looking to the raced brigade here and are strongly buoyed by the engagement of Nash Rawiller for this son of Capitalist.

His racing manners have cost him his first two starts, where he wanted to over race and get the mouth open.

Bring in Nash who I expect will let him have his head, and then put the hard questions to him late. The two runs under the belt and the good surface will help here too.

Imagine Clark and Waterhouse go forward, and he parks outside of them, and proves too strong in the run home.

Randwick, Race 4 – 7. Sports Legend ($6.00/$2.20)

Literally polar opposites the horse we see at the trials and the horse we see on race day. But I have a theory for that… hear me out.

It’s pretty simple really. And pretty obvious when you look at it. He just doesn’t travel!

Trials at Randwick in times an Everest contender would carve out. Then just gets himself in a mess away from home.

It’s a common theme for runners from the Les Bridge barn. Stablemate Classique Legend has won close to $10 million from his six wins, all of which have come at Randwick. He first tasted defeat in a Listed Darby Munro Stakes at 3YO at Rosehill, before going on to win The Everest back at Randwick 18 months later.

And he was an abject failure in a race he should have bolted in when they travelled him to Hong Kong. The only explanation being that much like their trainer, a dyed in the wool South Sydney Rabbitohs man, and a Randwick ‘lifer’, they are simply home bodies.

He’s too good to let go around at this price and see him slip through your fingers.

Doomben, Race 4 – 3. Dark Chill ($3.40)

Not asked to do a lot in his first public outing, but trialled very smartly his second look.

Jim Byrne has stuck solid, and draws well.

May well have more upside than most of these.

Looks very hard to beat if he runs up to his most recent barrier trial.

Randwick, Race 8 – 14. Cholante ($3.40)

I’ve liked this filly since the first time she stepped out at the trials.

We tipped her at any old odds on debut in the Wyong Magic Millions.

She didn’t fire there, but was tipped straight out and made it back to back wins when she resumed in suitable grade.

She was set some tough tasks after that in town and in stakes grade which is on point for the stable, and hard to blame them as they have had plenty of success with it. But the six furlongs and the trying tracks really saw her out there.

Given a quiet trial resuming then had a solid hitout, winning her next heat in good style.

James McDonald has a sneaky association and a good record of success with this barn, and we’ll take it as a fair lead that he was happy to be booked on her for the last, at the lightest weight of the day.

Good fresh record and the 1100m is her go. She looks to have come back well and she’ll be very hard to beat
