Free Horse Racing Tips - 6th Jul
Tue 5th July 2022
Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, July 6, and provided our best horse racing tips.

A little over a week out from the mid winter point and after a glimmer of false hope last week, it’s all wet tracks again as far as the eye can see. A pattern that looks set to continue until at least the spring, but we certainly have plenty of data from 2022 to help us line the form up with. So there can be no excuse for not finding the punters plenty of winners.

Meetings at Warwick Farm in Sydney, the Lakeside circuit at Sandown in Melbourne, Ipswich on the outskirts of Brisbane, and Mt Gambier just over the border in SA to choose from.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, July 6.

Ipswich, Race 2 – 2. Critical Thinker ($3.70)

*This meeting has been transferred to Sunshine Coast Poly Track.*

Former Maher Racing foreman James Healy looks ready to break through with his first winner here after knocking on the door with this bloke for a while.

Hard fit now after two runs at a mile with a couple of short course hit outs in between.

He gets around the tight circuits as was evident in his Beaudesert run, has placed on all going, and Fradd sticks after probably going a bit early last start.

They’ll press on from the draw and they’ll have their pick of the best going in only the second race of the day, with just a short sprint home to stave them off.

Gets his chance if the meeting holds on. Let’s just hope it stands up for at least two races!

Warwick Farm, Race 1 – 4. Hell I Am ($3.80)

*This meeting has been transferred to Canterbury racecourse, and will be raced on Thursday.*

I think there’s only two genuine hopes in this so we are going to roll the dice on the fellow with the exposed form.

Sports Legend could not have been more impressive in his two trials, running 2nd best and best of the morning respectively, but I’m inclined to think they might keep him for another day rather than chance their hand from the car park draw, on a heavy 10 at 1100m on debut.

That leaves the Hellbent colt nearly a good thing.

They’ve set him a few decent tasks debuting at the Wyong Magic Millions race then being sent to the Gold Coast for a lead up to the 2YO feature in a last ditch attempt to qualify after coming unstuck at Wyong.

Not sure he would have won on debut but drew poorly and had no luck in running before copping a squeeze when coming with a run late.

Freshened up when brought back to Sydney and it was a good thing beaten in an overconfident, bordering on silly ride from McDonald.

A rare blunder, but no surprise to see Bowman back on who has ridden him with kid gloves up until now, but looks ready to unleash on him after a very sharp finish in his most recent trial.

Gets the nod over the debutant, even though he does look very talented. Both have a future.

Warwick Farm, Race 2 – 5. Roma Avenue ($2.90)

*This meeting has been transferred to Canterbury racecourse, and will be raced on Thursday.*

We tipped him on debut after a gun trial but in hindsight that was a decent task. 1250m first up, on the heavy, from the outside draw.

He crossed and led eventually there but the work told late and I think they’ve pulled the right rein here coming back to 1100m.

Sure to have benefited from that pipe opener and looks sharp enough to handle coming back in trip.

Warwick Farm, Race 6 – 1. Travest ($9.00/$3.00)

*This meeting has been transferred to Canterbury racecourse, and will be raced on Thursday.*

They muck around far too much with this bloke for my liking, and whilst he’s far from a reliable conveyance, he hasn’t let me down when they’ve placed him right in the past.

Took an age for them to finally put the blinkers on. And just as long to bring him back to midweek company for a kill and to come back to his home track where he has an outstanding record (7 starts for 4 wins).

They haven’t been back to the mile since he won here back in January in the shades the first time. And they’ve been back to the Farm just the once in that period.

He’s a Tavistock who’s had plenty of looks at rain affected ground and no doubt done plenty of work on this circuit. He gets the top weight because he has form and ability well above this grade, and they’ve wisely claimed on him.

The 5m rail might see the track hold up early, but I’m tipping they’ll be scraping the paint on the outside rail come race six and that’s right up this blokes alley.

Worth an each way play if you are in front.

Mt Gambier, Race 7 – 10. Nana Dulce ($5.00/$2.00)

It will barely creep into double digits at Mt Gambier this week but I’ve got the most confidence that this meeting will at least stand up out of all the venues we’ve tipped at. So if all else fails, get stuck in here!

A 4YO mare who has hardly put a foot wrong since joining the Roslyn Day yard. Had the hoof on the till and ridden to suit the unique circuit last start and won with a bit in store.

There’s no query stepping to 1400m on the back of that, loses nothing from Lorensini taking over, and it is a typically thin race that you find around these parts.

Making her our best of the day.
