Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, July 19, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Scouting far and wide again as we are prone to do in the depths of winter as we search for good tracks and good things around the country.

The former has remarkably been easier to come by than the latter in recent weeks but we have managed to keep the ship narrowly afloat despite not enjoying the best of luck.

Reasonably positive forecasts in the three main states this week where we can expect tracks in the good to better side of the soft range at Warwick Farm, Sandown and Ipswich. Whilst there is nothing but blue skies, orange sunsets, cold beers, and 30 degrees forecast for the three weeks ahead leading into the Darwin Cup where it is Ladies Day at Fannie Bay this Wednesday and strong turn out expected as part of their ongoing feature carnival.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, July 19.

Ipswich, Race 2 – 5. Kai Tak ($1.60)

We’ve had Samantha Collett on the barred list for some time now, and the ride on Kai Tak last start was a timely reminder as to why she should have stayed there.

Found more trouble than Burke and Wills in that race, jumping well but restrained then got to over racing before being held up for a run and having to shift across heels in the run home and driving to the line late.

Decent draw, dropping back to 1100m and Jimmy Orman up. Expect they will nearly take luck out of the equation here.

Handy galloper ready for a win.

Sandown, Race 5 – 5. Pereille ($3.50)

Talented galloper who took a while to break through but does look well suited here.

Trialed super leading into his first up run this time in, but I was happy to watch at a silly odds on quote.

A heap of tempo here to drag him into the race. Expect a strongly run five furlongs with the big run home that suits and I really like the idea of switching him up and sending him to Victoria to keep him sharp now he’s learnt what the winning post looks like. As he has been a little wary of it in the past.

Shopping better here and really does look a good thing going off his last win.

Darwin, Race 1 – 2. Shirshov ($1.75)

Picked up by the Gary Clarke stable from James Cummings for a tilt at last year’s Darwin Sprint features. Struck injury troubles and tipped out then given a southern campaign under Philip Stokes where he won 3 from 4 in town and ran 3rd in a $100k race.

Now back with Clarke, won a recent jump out and meets a moderate bunch of local gallopers here first up over 1100m.

Looks one of the better bets of the day.

Warwick Farm, Race 6 – 2. The Milkybar Kid ($4.40)

Looked a promising middle distance type stringing three together once he settled in from NZ before being brought unstuck in a muddling run race with a small field on a heavy 10.

Just the one run back in after nearly six months off where he was gone at the 300m and sent straight to the paddock for yet another extended spell.

The shades have come off, but he has looked sharper than ever in his recent trials indicating he might be back on song.

If that is the case, he will prove too smart for these.

The Milkybar Kid to lead all the way for the ‘Comeback Kid’ Adam Hyeronimus.

Darwin, Race 4 – 4. Swing With Junior ($10/$3.30)

The $35k Rosebowl for fillies and mares is one of the highlights on a strong card on Toyota Cup Ladies day for the Darwin Turf Club and this little mare is definitely worthy of being crowned the Queen of the Top End, certainly in our eyes anyway.

She has served us very well this time in, with a couple of comprehensive barrier to box wins early on this campaign before a narrow defeat after a heady ride when chasing a hat trick on a 7 day back up.

Ran into the handy Wolfburn the subsequent start when trapped deep and copping plenty of kick back, and likewise last start when the rider crossed early and buried her on the inside before making a run a long way out.

Sure to be rock hard fit, and is at her best when up on the speed. Drawn to get that, back against her own sex, in a race she ran second in last year.

The Chloe Baxter stable enjoys one of the best strike rates in Darwin and have their eye in after winning the first on Saturday.

Tough little mare, sure to run a bold race at odds.
