Free Horse Racing Tips - 12th Jul

Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, July 12, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Very high quality fields for a midweek card, no doubt helped by the always strong Ramornie Handicap which kicks off the first of the back to back features days for the Clarence River Jockey Club.

We’ve found two very strong tips that form a running double in the Grafton Guineas followed by the sprint feature there.

We have found one that just missed for us on debut going around Doomben in the first. Likewise race one in Sydney where we have a speed machine we expect to get us off to a flying start.

And hopefully that gives us some play money for the back half of the afternoon with our two best bets being at the showcase meeting in Grafton, and our ‘Best Roughie’, a Waller trained galloper that goes around in Brisbane.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, July 12.

Doomben, Race 1 – 9. Denote (TBA)

They went back on her when debuting in a race where the stablemate was well supported.

Held up in behind them at a crucial stage late, and should have won.

Drawn out, and goes to 1350m from 1200m, so assume they’ll go back again given how well she finished off last time. Has the benefit of staying in a set weights maiden here which is a big plus for a horse that has finished runner up at her only start.

Canterbury, Race 1 – 1. Global Empire ($2.60)

Gave plenty of cheek when resuming, leading and being taken on by the handy Satin And Silk, before being nailed late.

Drawn well, fitter, and can dictate out to 1100m.

Can get us off to a flying start.

Doomben, Race 4 – 6. Esky (Odds)

Big rangy Savabeel gelding from the all-conquering Waller yard who pulled out a cheeky run first up in spite of his best form being over much further.

Missed the start there, before attacking the line strongly. He’s a month between runs here and stays at the same trip.

Can feature at odds if he steps with them and replicates his run home.

Grafton, Race 6 – 2. Crafty Eagle ($2.50)

Drawn tricky again but he is a classy sort of galloper, and the Grafton track suits if they elect to go back on him.

He is a very talented individual, but I think we see the best of him when he is ridden quiet and may just see the best of him if he gets a cold ride.

Tracked deep on speed in a gutsy 4th in the Winx Guineas. Bombed the start prior to that when he got hot after being loaded first. And you could not help but be impressed by the way he attacked the line when resuming.

This is always a race that attracts plenty of quality, as it has done again this year, but this is a serious horse with a lot of upside. If they can slot in midfield and come with a run down the crown of the track, he is going to take some holding out.

Grafton, Race 7 – 4. Ef Troop ($9.00/$3.00)

An old stager who built a reputation throughout most of his career as being a fairly unreliable conveyance, yet he has hardly put a foot wrong this calendar year.

Oozes quality, the draw absolutely cost him last start. Drawn well here, in a race that is always run at a solid tempo.

Meets a few horses on the way up in this, but as a rising 8YO, most of them would be very happy to have competed at his level by the time they are the same age.

He is the class galloper of the field, early support, and still a very backable price.
