Free Horse Racing Tips - 18th Jan

Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, January 18, and provided our best horse racing tips.

There’ll be plenty of punters itching for some action this Wednesday after we hardly had a chance to get warm on Saturday with some farcical scenes at the Gold Coast’s feature Magic Millions meeting.

We can only hope somebody got soaked with a spray every bit as good as the rogue sprinkler delivered to the home turn late on Friday evening which led to the weekend’s debacle.

They go again Thursday so stay tuned for our special Magic Millions feature edition hitting the press shortly, but in the meantime we are going to try and help you build a bank at the midweek meeting.

It looks like they are dodging the rain west of Brisbane where we can expect good conditions at Ipswich, likewise at Wyong north of Sydney where they have a fine forecast, whilst it’s a roll of the dice as usual in Melbourne with showers forecast at different stages throughout the day at Sandown.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, January 18.

Wyong, Race 1 – 8. Julimar ($9.00/$2.50)

Not normally a race I would encourage punters to bet in but I thought this gelding represents good value and was worth a play at odds.

Only lightly raced, and with his runs spaced he went straight to the mile fresh off a 10 week let up at Nowra and was starting to warm into it when he most likely peaked on his run over the concluding stages.

He will strip fitter for that, and finds a very thin race here.

Has something to offer over this trip and further, can bob up here for you at a price.

Ipswich, Race 1 – 2. Sunday Mail ($1.90)

We are guided by the strong market push on debut and then another good trial this time in.

Played up in the yard prior to his first start then hung badly on the corner and was eased down in the straight.

One eyed blinker on here. He wore that and bounced straight to the lead and raced tractably in his most recent hitout stopping the clock in sharp time over a short course on the poly.

Will give them something to catch over the 800m here.

Wyong, Race 4 – 6. Dancing Alone ($2.35)

I like what I’ve seen of this I Am Invincible filly in her two trials this time in.

She has really attacked the line strongly on both occasions running third in the first one, and then winning her latest.

Both of those were around Surreal Lily who although was disappointing when resuming, she was backed like she was unbeatable which tells you there must be a decent opinion of her.

I subscribe to the theory that where there’s smoke, there’s normally fire.

This girl’s been well supported when markets opened and I’m happy to go with her off the strong trials.

Wyong, Race 7 – 6. The Unicorn ($2.80)

Shut down when brought back to 1100m after the rider adopted some cavalier tactics the start prior.

She resented the bridal early but travelled nicely after settling and boxed on gamely late.

Like what I saw last start. Expect they’ll be positive here going off the engagement of Parr, without going silly.

The tight circuit and the step back out to the 1350m suit.

She is a nice filly and can get back on track here.

Sandown, Race 6 – 7. Pacific Ruby ($2.50)

A 4YO mare who really switched on when under the tutelage of a new barn.

She was ultra impressive in her two starts resulting in comfortable wins on both occasions. One at 1200m, one at 1400m. Both on the heavy.

Resumes here at 1300m, with Jamie Kah sticking, and rain forecast, against very moderate opposition.

Looks the bet of the day.
