Free Horse Racing Tips - 8th Feb

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, February 8, and provided our best horse racing tips.

With plenty of racing around the country throughout the week, the traditional midweek Wednesday meetings have taken a bit of hit quality wise as race clubs look to cash in on less traditional days and less traditional time slots throughout the warmer months.

But the two constants that remain are the fact that there is a winner in every race, and that the good folk here at The Racing Shark will leave no stone unturned in trying to find them for you.

We head to Eagle Farm and Warwick Farm, two of the more typical hump day venues in QLD and NSW respectively. Whilst the team at RVL have thrown us a nice curve ball in programming a set of races at Moe, just to keep us on our toes.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, February 8.

Eagle Farm, Race 1 – 4. Katdeel ($4.80)

For those as long in the tooth as the author of this tips page, there will certainly be some reminiscing about a horse called St Basil when they see this trainer/jockey combo back together again in their form guides.

It’s certainly a long way from a Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap win, to punching one around in the hope of winning an 1840m midweek maiden, but I think the old firm can get it done here.

Looked home last start when stepping to 1800m at just his second run for the prep before being swamped in the concluding stages by an Annabel Neesham 3YO.

Bound to have stripped fitter, loses nothing with Cahill replacing Orman, and it goes without saying that these types of races are pretty thin.

Bevan Laming’s a terrific trainer of stayers, and I doubt he would have missed this bloke in between runs.

Looks like the one to beat.

Warwick Farm, Race 1 – 7. Tom Kitten ($3.10)

A skinny 2YO race to open the Sydney midweek card which is surprising given we are into the second week of February and edging toward some decent pay days for these babies.

I’m prepared to forgive the Godolphin runner for his moderate effort on debut. He led there, down the straight, first look, which is never an easy task for a seasoned horse let alone a first starter.

The first two across the line there go alright, they’d certainly be winning this.

Nash gets legged on here, and the colt gets a rail to follow around a bend. Both big pluses.

Can get us off to a flyer.

Warwick Farm, Race 2 – 7. Ring Ahoy ($6.50)

A seven start maiden who even though his record might not suggest it, he did enough last prep to deserve a ticket here.

Ran into three very smart gallopers his first three runs that campaign. Then copped a heavy 10, and then was probably over the top his next run.

Cinderella Days is 3 from 4, Rediener was competitive in stakes company after winning its maiden, whilst Stylised ran 4th in the Gloaming, beaten less than 2L by Sharp N Smart who would go on to win the Group 1 Spring Champion and then finish 2nd in a VRC Derby.

You can be stiff alright!

The favourite Pereille has been given ‘every conceivable’ in each of its runs, and dead set turns it up when it hits the front. He’s opened shorter than even money and I’d be happy to take him on any day.

This Waller gelding trialled super in his most recent outing. He gets firm footing in a race where there looks to be a good tempo.

If he runs up to any of his first three runs from last prep he is in this up to his eyeballs.

Worth a good crack if the each-way betting holds up.

Warwick Farm, Race 3 – 4. Moscow Night ($2.90)

Still not entirely sold on what transpired last start, but the win was very dominant and when they win like that for this stable, they normally go on with it.

The fact James McDonald takes over here and he gets barrier one only enhances his credentials.

Stays at 1400m, should hold the rail, and has trialled well in between runs.

That’s enough to have him on top.

Moe, Race 5 – 1. Desperado ($2.35)

Won very strongly first up at Warrnambool from back in the field after nearly a year off. Then was forced to work forward from a bad draw and found out late, straight to 1800m, straight to town second up.

He has a bit of class about him and drops considerably in grade here. Stays at 1800m.

Expect he’ll camp outside the lead and then prove too strong in the dash home.
