We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, August 3, and provided our best horse racing tips.

With Spring on our doorstep, both the race and barrier trial fields are slowly starting to heat up. There are some nice horses stepping out at Geelong, and we have zoned in on a smart filly early on in the day. There looks to be some good value to be found at Eagle Farm, and if all else fails, there may be one at Gawler that can get us out of trouble.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, August 3.

Geelong, Race 3 – 8. Lambda ($5.50)

Well bred filly who got back and ran some electric late sectionals on debut at Flemington back in January, before finishing 3rd in the Listed Talindert Stakes.

You’d expect with form like that, she’d be sent around an odds on favourite in a midweek maiden, but this race certainly isn’t short on depth. The Peter Moody trained Nanagui also brings solid form lines into the race, and a host of lightly raced/unraced horses have shown plenty of ability.

With that said, Team Hawkes will have her (Lambda) ready to fire for her first up assignment here, and I have confidence we can follow her throughout this preparation and come out on top.

Geelong, Race 4 – 5. Only Human ($2.40)

Cranbourne trained galloper who gets a golden opportunity to break his maiden, after two strong runner up performances this prep from as many runs.

His first up run on the Sandown Lakeside track was very good behind the Team Freedman trained, Hypothetical. He was then sent out odds on favourite last start at Sandown Hillside, and was gallant in defeat. He loomed to win at the furlong on that occasion, but the Heavy 9 surface looked to take its toll late in the race.

He gets back on a better surface here and the step up to the 1418m looks ideal. With the exception of a couple of runners, this looks a pretty light race and he certainly looks the one to beat.

Eagle Farm, Race 4 – 2. Secret Tales ($3.70)

Talented mare who strung a couple of strong wins together before contesting the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet.

Her last start effort at Doomben was very good after covering ground for the majority of the event, and only going down 0.7L behind Bentley Magic.

The stable is on fire of late, and this looks a nice drop in grade for her. With a bit more luck in the run, she should be strong to the line and prove very hard to hold out.

Gawler, Race 6 – 3. Old Time Rock ($11/$3.50)

Racing well this prep after a strong win first up in this grade at Mt Gambier over 900m. His run two back in a BM68 at Morphettville was good, as was his last effort behind the well performed Litchfield County.

He now drops back to a BM58 here at Gawler and comes up with a gun barrier. He also gets the services of the states leading rider in Todd Pannell. With that in mind, he looks a good each way bet and has a big chance of sealing career win number 3.

Eagle Farm, Race 7 – 6. Bundyandcoke ($7.50/$2.65)

Sunshine Coast trained gelding who has been competitive in some very strong races in his 17 start career.

He got back and wanted to overdo it at times, before making good late ground last start in a very hot race behind Delyth and Proper Rogue. Both horses have performed well since and this bloke has since won a trial in preparation for this.

He gets the addition of a cross-over nose band to help him relax and blinkers for the first time to sharpen him up. Those combined with a drop in grade here bring him right into calculations, and he looks well and truly over the odds.

His three wins to date have been on heavy tracks, which he won’t get here, but definitely feel he will run a big race and is worth a few bucks each way.
