Free Horse Racing Tips - 2nd Aug
Tue 1st August 2023
Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, August 2, and provided our best horse racing tips.

We lucked out with our short price selections on Saturday, but we were able to take care of the punters with our ‘Best Roughie’ play saluting in the last in the feature at Darwin at juicy double figure odds.

Once again we not only look far and wide across the country for winners this Wednesday, but we are looking for plenty of value too and are confident we can keep up a good run of decent form on the tip and keep your wallets charged this first week of August with a long and winding Spring within reach up ahead.

We try and navigate the tricky Kensington course in Sydney with three picks whilst we once again head up to the Top End that has served us so well in recent weeks as we put our faith in a couple of the country’s most promising trainer’s with strike rates that would be the envy of seasoned hard heads the nation over.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, August 2.

Kensington, Race 3 – 7. Enotis ($6.50/$2.15)

Very green customer getting out over a bit of ground for the first time.

Looked home first up but just peaked late when covering ground at Hawkesbury. Then looked set to bolt in 2nd up before having a good look around, eventually hanging on to break his maiden.

The 2nd horse has won since. Zac Lloyd stays up. And he meets a well tried bunch here carrying below the minimum after the claim.

Race favourite The Milkybar Kid was the first horse beaten when first up, in just his second run in a year. He poses a massive risk.

This looks a progressive type who is now getting to his right distance. Winkers go on for a bit of extra focus. And a sprinkling of early money.

All positive leads.

Darwin, Race 2 – 3. Freddy The Eagle (TBA)

One of Darwin’s leading up and coming trainer’s whose strike rate tapered off towards the back end of the season however he looks set to get back in the winner’s stall here to kick off the new racing calendar year.

Three runs under his belt now, the latest a hard finishing second over the 1300m suggesting the horse is right back on track and primed for the mile.

Won over this track and trip last campaign. Veteran hoop Mark Pegus takes over from the indisposed Sonja Wiseman.

Set to build on his handy record in the Top End.

Doomben, Race 5 – 12. Esky (TBA)

Did enough when resuming without luck over the 1350m to warrant another crack at that trip. Missed narrowly 2nd up after being deep, but have always been of the opinion this and even further was going to suit.

Certainly covered closer to a mile last start. He’ll go back again from the draw and be powering home late with his big rangy action.

Ready to win third up.

Kensington, Race 7 – 13. Glacier Queen ($12/$3.80)

Handy mare when right who trialled best of the morning in her most recent outing at Rosehill.

Horror draw but does possess a handy turn of foot and appears to handle the Kensington surface as she has gone close on a couple of occasions.

Capable of rattling home fresh off a tempo if she gets any luck. Stable firing.

Value play.

Darwin, Race 6 – 5. Aplomado (TBA)

Pride of Dubai gelding recently turned 4YO who looked to have all before him when winning in dominant style on debut.

Resumed against the older horses and gave them weight and only just missed.

Not much has gone right since then. A cardiac arrhythmia when stepping to the 1300m second up, then never got hot when they tried to ride him cute last time out.

Had a freshen up, the shades go on here, sliding back down the weights against very well tried opposition.

Stable took out the feature on Saturday earning a place in the upcoming Darwin Cup with He’s The Ultimate.

If this horse is back right and with positive tactics again, he should be able to build on their recent success.
