Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, April 12, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Whilst the lowering of Anamoe’s colours might have dented the nation’s pride on Saturday, punters can take solace in the fact we defied the national interest and declared Dubai Honour on top letting you know we always have your back here at The Racing Sharks.

But let’s park past glory as the Sydney Autumn carnival presses on in earnest this week and we get about the business of trying to build a bank for the weekend ahead.

Solid midweek cards at Newcastle and Doomben whilst we think we might have found one at odds out of the trial file for you at Strathalbyn.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, April 12.

Doomben, Race 1 – 2. Dark Chill ($1.75)

He owes us a few bucks this bloke but I think we are set to hit paydirt here.

Out of a sire by Galileo, he has probably been looking for this all along.

Done enough, and improved in his two starts to date. Ready for this now. Byrne sticks.

Looks a good kill and don’t discount as a QLD Derby hope.

Newcastle, Race 1 – 5. Party Doll ($2.00)

You would like to own one in this, and there’s probably only one you would want to be backing in this.

The Brad Widdup filly is a trial superstar having shown plenty of toe to win all three of her public outings to date.

In her only race start she crossed to lead then punctured over 1100m in a tougher race at Canterbury.

This is far more suitable and she has trialled well since.

She’s the one they’ll all be trying to catch here.

Newcastle, Race 2 – 5. The Englishman ($2.20)

Talented galloper by Tavistock who is sure to have taken the benefit of a recent freshen up.

Has shown plenty of potential in previous campaigns without being quite there mentally.

Love the idea of the short let up. Long enough to curb the ailments of his growing pains, but short enough to keep his head in the game.

They loaded him inside and didn’t show him up in a recent trial on the all weather. He had nothing to prove there.

He’s only had to have improved a length off what he did last time in, and he’ll win this.

Strathalbyn, Race 1 – 1. Carbone ($3.20)

Talented galloper when right, resuming here after a year off.

Trained on track and has a good win strike rate here.

Won a recent trial on the bridle indicating he’s back on track and there’s not much separating a few of these.

Can feature at odds.

Doomben, Race 9 – 6. Alamira

They are enjoying a good run at present the Pride of Dubai’s, most notably claiming the Group 1 feature Queen Elizabeth in Sydney on Saturday with Dubai Honour.

Whilst this filly has a way to go before she reaches those heights, she did win in very good style resuming, taking a sit and putting them away easily at Ipswich.

Only lightly raced, she has plenty of upside and looks a genuine Saturday grade galloper on ability.

Brodie Loy is riding in great style and he sticks here. Just needs to overcome a tricky draw but she has plenty of tactical speed which should negate that.

Rob Davis has spent, or some might say misspent, a lifetime in the racing industry working everywhere from the stables of hall of fame trainers, to a form analyst for some of the countries leading online racing sites and bookmakers through to curating tracks at some of Australia’s most far flung racing outposts. These days he spends his time creating online content, providing tipping services and making a living off the punt whilst putting the finishing touches to his ‘Great Australian Racing Novel’. It’s fair to say that what Rob Davis doesn’t know about the racing game isn’t worth knowing and he now provides you with his five best bets, twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday, for you here at the Racing Sharks.
