Flemington, Race 4 – 5. Birdie’s Galore ($12/$3.80)
Lightly raced and highly promising Spieth filly from the Patrick Payne yard looking to build on her handy record to date.
Two wins and two placings from just four starts and looks set for another good campaign after finding the line strongly first up over 1200m at The Valley in the Crockett.
She travelled sweetly there, but just crabbed around the tight bend and was a little flat footed when they sprinted for the short dash home.
Flemington suits, and she is stakes placed in her only run at 1400m.
Let down strongly on the heavy last start and is a winner on soft and good rated tracks.
Might need some luck from the draw if they roll forward but she quickened well from just off them last start and can feature here at good odds.

Flemington, Race 8 – 5. Foxy Cleopatra ($8.50/$2.45)
Been set for this and ticking over nicely.
Shinn just let Parr under his neck at a key point in the race in the Ethereal Stakes. That proved the difference in the margin.
She draws better here, and bred for this trip. And her breeding would also indicate she is going to be better on top of the ground.
Hopefully the forecasters get it right for once, and we get back near a good track for the feature of the day.
Pinned her as the VRC Oaks winner a while back, and she is primed to give this a mighty shake.

Saving the best for last with one that they have been saving up for this.
Came out of the Crockett late after the track downgrade where she was strongly supported the moment the markets went up.
This was rumoured to be their Golden Slipper horse back in the Autumn before things went amiss. Either way, she has come back in terrific order going off her strong maiden win.
