Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, October 29, and provided our best horse racing tips.

It’s the day formerly known as Victoria Derby day, but now known in the constantly evolving Australian racing landscape as VRC Derby – Golden Eagle – Nature Strip Stakes day.

So what does this long name really spell out? Quite simply it’s a big ‘W’ for race fans with what used to be the deepest racing program on the racing calendar, now bolstered with rich feature races across two states with a super strong support card of stakes racing in each.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, October 29.

Flemington, Race 1 – 7. Rediener ($21/$5.00)

This is traditionally a race for future good horses, and at first glance there isn’t really one that jumps off the page.

In a sense that sends you looking for a form outlier, but perhaps the answer has been staring us in the face the whole time.

Of the Melbourne brigade, they have essentially been taking turns in beating each other, or are coming out of low grade, or even maiden races.

The Redoute’s Choice colt, Rediener, has been on our radar since he trailed back in August.

He went super on debut going down narrowly to a horse that there is an opinion of, and who had a fitness edge on him.

Really strong win 2nd up to break his maiden. Then put up against the older horses in a Sydney Saturday grade BM72 and was knocked off less than a length and a half by two horses carrying 59.5kg and 60kg respectively. Both tough old stayers, both with 25% win records.

Lost no supporters when having his first go on the Victorian leg, when he eased four deep and loomed the winner at his first go out to a mile, only to peak on his run and be outgunned by a handy one with a distinct fitness edge.

That horse, Zoe’s Promise, came out and won a Group 2 last week.

This bloke, has his second look at a mile, his second look Melbourne way, on a roomier circuit, and hopefully on a better track.

Appears to do his best racing on drier surfaces. If that is the case, have a good go at the juicy each-way odds.

Flemington, Race 3 – 7. Jamaea ($11/$3.50)

Looked an absolute living certainly to become a Group 1 winner when she blazed through the Percy Sykes and the Furious Stakes at 2YO and 3YO.

Alas she is yet to breakthrough, and has become somewhat of an enigma.

Looked a dead set miler who you would have rolled into odds on for the G1 Flight Stakes after the way she stacked them up and ran them down in her Furious win.

Wet tracks have certainly conspired against her at 1300 and 1400m, but I am absolutely certain that a sit/sprint 1100/1200 is her best go.

Beaten less than a length by Fangirl and Espiona in the G2 Light Fingers at 1200m.

She ran 3rd to Count De Rupee in the G2 Victory Stakes over 1200m who ran I’m Thunderstruck to a nose in a Golden Eagle.

And recently chased home gun Godolphin mare Zapateo over 1100m in the Toy Show.

Was warming to her slinging off the corner with the short run home last week at Moonee Valley in the Manikato Stakes, before the lightning and thunder came and they scratched her to save her for this.

Drawn outside half, if Schofield can kid to her long enough down the straight and press the green button at the right time, she is way too good for these on previous form.

Newcastle, Race 2 – 9. Tradition ($1.34)

He’s a stout looking fellow for a Frankel, but he sure races like one.

Doing his best work through the line last start, 2nd up at 1500m.

Gets to 1900m, 3rd up on a big roomy track in a very weak race.

His only bomb has been on a wet track but he was tipped straight out after that, and that was at 1200m.

This is ideal. Should just win.

Newcastle, Race 3 – 9. Razeta (N/A)

*This horse has since been scratched.*

Some real form flares here.

Defeated Fielding on debut who is handy and should have won more.

Went to town next start and ran a good 3rd to Kiboiu who is now a Group 3 winner, defeating the Caulfield Guineas winner Golden Mile in the Up and Coming.

Resumed at 1100m, after two plain trials and ran accordingly. Went straight to 1400m and  was humming when they straightened and absolutely luckless in the Reginald Allen behind A Lot More Love.

That filly came out and ran a solid 3rd in the Callander-Presnell to, that horse again, Golden Mile!

And you don’t have to be either Kenny or Max to know that stacks up pretty damn well for a Class 1 at Newcastle.

Third up, second run at 1400m. Should just win.

Flemington, Race 6 – 1. Jacquinot ($5.50/$2.15)

You can only imagine they didn’t install him as favourite on account of the draw, and perhaps because of the soft track.

We should be able to get a decent guide by now as to where the riders think they want to be down the straight six with the favourite drawn inside in the earlier 1200m race.

Hardly soaring temperatures in Melbourne, but with only light rain forecast for Friday, you would have to think a free draining track like Flemington would be a fighting chance of an upgrade by mid afternoon on a Spring day.

Off his Golden Rose win he clearly has the wood on In Secret who is the early fave, and he has either beaten everything else or is simply a class above them.

Hit the line strongly to claim the Golden Rose over 1400m. And then was really good late in The Everest off an unfavourable draw and on an unfavourable surface.

A Rosehill G1 1400m, then a 1200m up and over the rise at Randwick against the best open company sprinters in the world augers well for a straight six furlong race.

If we get back to a Soft5, they can’t beat him.
