Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, May 6, and provided our best horse racing tips.

A start of a real shift in focus for the coming months as feature race action leaks away from the two main eastern states and quality stakes races start to fill up the cards in QLD and SA.

A chance for the girls to bag Group 1 glory in the WFA Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville. Whilst the always well supported Hollindale Stakes meeting shifts away from its regular home of the Gold Coast whilst they undergo a much needed track upgrade and takes up a temporary residence at the more punting friendly venue of the Sunshine Coast.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, May 6.

Gosford, Race 6 – 10. Sports Legend ($7.50/$2.50)

Finally came out three back and put it all together in maiden, as he had promised to in his many trials, and I thought ‘here we go!’.

Anchored him in many multi’s his next start when they found a soft race at Newcastle only to see him flounder like he had so many times in the past.

Sacked him. He went up in grade next start. Sat deep, and belted them at Warwick Farm.

I’m calling he’s a spit on the ground and he won’t go type of horse. Good tracks either side of the Newcastle flop on a Soft 6. It can be the only explanation.

Ventures to Saturday metro class for the first time here, draws well with his regular rider up. Speed to burn at both ends, and most importantly he will get his firm track.

Prepared to declare him.

Gosford, Race 8 – 9. Razeta ($17/$5.00)

The form out of the South Pacific Classic and the Hawkesbury Guineas is some of the hottest form around Sydney as we head into Winter.

Crazy price on offer here. You only need to look at the weight of acceptances from the stable to know this meeting and this race are real targets.

Hit the line strongly over 1400m latest. Beat the QLD Derby favourite and subsequent winner Kovalica the start prior. And already a stakes winner over 1400m at Flemington.

The mile at Gosford no issue. Nor is the fact she’s a 3YO filly against older horses on the minimum.

We’ve tipped Andy Adkins to ride a metro double here, which might seem a stretch. But you can basically call him a local talent having grown up on the mid north coast, and he rides at 17% on this circuit.

Our best roughie.

Morphettville, Race 7 – 1. Bella Nipotina ($3.90)

One of the best runs of the year for a beaten horse, aside from the runner up out of the same race.

That race was The Quokka, and that horse was Amelia’s Jewel.

Unlike the WA filly though, there’s no rider change in play here, and you have to be buoyed by Ben Melham venturing to City of Churches (also known as Radelaide) for a chance to add to this bonny mare’s G1 tally.

Deserved favourite, and on her last run, on exposed form, and under the race conditions.

She looks really hard to shake here.

Sunshine Coast, Race 6 – 5. Spacewalk ($6.50/$2.35)

Highly talented gelding who gave the impression that the penny was very close to dropping last prep.

Form around Buenos Noches and Mariamia at the start of that campaign before putting it all together in an impressive win at Rosehill.

Went to Melbourne and performed well in a messy run Zeditave Stakes before heading to the Darby Munro where he wanted to over race inside of horses forcing Bowman to ease him across heels and expose him far too soon. Good effort to hold down 3rd.

Given a freshen up and make nothing of the recent trial result on paper.

They had one objective there, and that was for J Mac to shut him down and have no part of his antics.

They achieved that, and he went around under a stranglehold.

If Tim Clark can produce something similar and present him at the right time, he has the turn of foot to put these away over the big run home at the Sunny Coast.

Sunshine Coast, Race 7 – 1. Zaaki ($1.65)

Poised to strike with Huetor, and the switch to Caloundra from the Gold Coast for the Hollindale certainly suits. He even has a win over Zaaki in last year’s Doomben Cup. But I think that is his race again, even in spite of his improved effort last start.

Really respect what Neesham has done with this old boy. Making the early call that he wasn’t quite his usual self and on that score not up for the tough slog of the Autumn, and wisely gave him an extended spell to get set for a carnival he has excelled at in the past.

He’s never going to be that horse again that did Might and Power type things to them, but he is still in the top half a dozen WFA horses in the country even at 8YO. His latest 2nd in the All Aged certainly proved that.

Repeat that, and there’s only one horse in the race that can go with him. And the market suggests Huetor is here for the hit out.
