Free Horse Racing Tips - 3rd Jun
Fri 2nd June 2023
Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, June 3, and provided our best horse racing tips.

I’m always a fan of alliteration in my introductions but unfortunately the ‘W’ words don’t exactly align at this time of year.

Warm weather and winter winners, are both tough asks, but as I sit here typing this for the first Saturday in June, I pledge to do my best to keep your coat pockets lined so there’s plenty of coal on the fire for the long stretch ahead, one that I like to refer to as ‘The Mother-In-Law months’. That being, they are generally cold and miserable.

Eagle Farm, Newcastle, and Flemington are our venues this week and we are confident we can get you off to a flying start on the right leg, in spite of all the elements.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, June 3.

Eagle Farm, Race 1 – 3. Mojave Desert ($5.00)

Scratched Wednesday when he looked an absolute certainty in order to be kept for this.

Two honest efforts since resuming, the latest a second behind the handy Le Zebra where they looked to have the rest covered fairly comfortably.

Nash Rawiller, a good draw, blinkers on, firmer ground, and bred for this kind of trip being out of a stakes winning mare over the seven furlongs.

Flemington, Race 1 – 1. Codigo ($3.20)

Kiwi 2YO who has looked the goods winning two from two over the ditch.

Attacked the line strongly on each occasion, and looks ready to step up to the mark in metro Melbourne.

Newcastle, Race 2 – 1. Discover ($10/$2.90)

Scratched Wednesday from a maiden handicap that the stable mate won convincingly.

Gets a bigger track at Newcastle which suits, back to a maiden plate, against a very moderate bunch and gets the services of one of one of the best riders on the provincial circuit.

Soft draw, long run home. You won’t miss this flashy customer charging to the front late!

Darwin, Race 2 – 5. Swing With Junior (TBA)

She was very good to us last week, holding the inside and dashing away to win by 3L.

Stick with a mare in form they say. And you get the impression this little girl would run through a wall for you at the moment.

No easy task taking on a five horse field in which the leading local trainer and 10 time premiership winner, Gary Clarke has the four other runners. But the only girl within 1000 kms of Darwin in better form than Swing With Junior at the minute is Jade Hampson.

A real David v Goliath battle here with four boys taking on the lone girl, and four senior riders taking on the local apprentice.

Riveting stuff, and just a taste of what is to come in the Top End over coming months.

Let’s go with one for the battlers here!

Eagle Farm, Race 7 – 4. Quantico ($2.75)

Patiently handled sprinter who is of a very high quality when he’s right, and it is hard to say that John O’Shea doesn’t have him very close to spot on going off his first up run.

Surprisingly moderate field of sprinters given the stage we are at of the Brisbane carnival.

He should account for these easily if he’s anywhere near his best.

Rob Davis has spent, or some might say misspent, a lifetime in the racing industry working everywhere from the stables of hall of fame trainers, to a form analyst for some of the countries leading online racing sites and bookmakers through to curating tracks at some of Australia’s most far flung racing outposts. These days he spends his time creating online content, providing tipping services and making a living off the punt whilst putting the finishing touches to his ‘Great Australian Racing Novel’. It’s fair to say that what Rob Davis doesn’t know about the racing game isn’t worth knowing and he now provides you with his five best bets, twice a week, Wednesday and Saturday, for you here at the Racing Sharks.
