We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, January 7, and provided our best horse racing tips.
Although things didn’t go all our way on Wednesday, we were able to zone in on a $10 winner at Warwick Farm, which was a nice start to the year.
This Saturday things heat up on the Gold Coast, with the $1.5m Tab Wave raceday. We are confident we’ve found some winners there, don’t mind one at good each-way odds at Sandown and have found a roughie late in the day at Ascot.
We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, January 7.
Sandown, Race 6 – 11. Micro ($7.50/$2.45)
Chased home a very smart one first up at Randwick, who has since bolted in again, before a complete forgive at Flemington last time out.
He was held up from the home turn until the 100m mark on that occasion and still managed to clock 32.63 for his last 600m.
He comes into this third up and should be ready to peak. Jamie Kah goes on and he should get a nice trail from the barrier.
Plenty to like, including the price on offer, and we have confidence the royal blue silks will be prominent in the finish here.

Gold Coast, Race 6 – 9. Olentia ($1.75)
Somehow she was sent out a $9.00 chance on debut after a nice trial and gave her rivals an absolute galloping lesson.
She then went to Eagle Farm and made mincemeat of a class 1 field.
This is obviously a step up in grade, but she’s drawn well with senior hoop Jim Byrne on board and looks to have untapped ability.
We think she should take care of her opposition here to make it three wins in a row and looks to be the best of the day around the country. Will be a lock in plenty of multis, including ours.

Gold Coast, Race 7 – 3. I Am Lethal ($7.50/$2.50)
Well bred 4YO who simply cannot handle rain affected tracks. Thankfully he will be on top of the ground here, and we believe he’s close to finding his best form after a solid last start effort at Rosehill behind Mensa Missile.
He finished alongside the in-form Democracy Manifest on that occasion, who would be an odds on favourite had he been in this race.
Trainer John O’Shea has always had an opinion of him and has run him in some handy races in his short career, and whilst this class 4 contest certainly lacks no depth, his best form is definitely good enough to give this a massive shake.
He should get a lovely run from the good barrier and Brenton Avdulla has had plenty to do with him. Watch for him late.

Gold Coast, Race 8 – 12. Tyresa ($7.00/$2.50)
The feature race of the day, the Tab Wave, and we like the chances of this 3YO filly.
She has taken a couple of runs to come to hand this prep but her last start suggested her best form is very close.
She got back on that occasion and made some strong late ground behind Soothsayer, who is absolutely flying.
The step up to 1800m looks ideal here and she gets in well under the weight-for-age conditions with 51kg on her back.
Jockey Taylor Marshall will smoke the pipe from the inside draw and if luck goes her way in the home straight, she will be very hard to hold out.

Ascot, Race 7 – 9. Mama Tembu ($13/$3.50)
If the day hasn’t gone to plan and the wallet is looking a little dusty, this 4YO mare could be the get out.
Despite only being a one time winner from 17 starts, she is racing in super form of late.
She fought gamely behind the in-form Trade War two starts ago, before an eye-catching fourth last start behind Real Danger.
That ties in well for this race and if you delve further into her form she was beaten just 3L by Bustler five starts ago.
We suggest an each-way play, but have confidence that if she gets a bit of luck in running, she will be charging late and can cause a boilover.
