Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, August 26, and provided our best horse racing tips.

It’s San Domenico Stakes day, which tells just about any seasoned punter that things are warming up. Both on the track and on the thermometer.

Spring is literally days away, and whilst they have dropped the programming ball like a soapy Sherrin down in Melbourne, Rosehill looks a strong card which is in keeping with the calendar and a fair representation of where we should be at for this time of year.

A few good value plays at that venue, whilst we head down to SA for our best of the day at Morphettville, and bank on one that owes us a few bucks at the provincial meeting in NSW ‘s Kembla Grange.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, August 26.

Rosehill, Race 3 – 6. Green Shadows ($5.50)

Talented galloper but far from the most genuine conveyance going around, which is probably evident by the hatrick of 2’s next to his name this prep.

Loomed to win though last start and got absolutely flattened at the top of the straight if you watch the head on.

I thought he wasn’t far off putting it together leading into that, and I think he was about to in that run. Balanced up, on the right the leg, set to let right down, before getting pulverised. Which is far from ideal for a horse that does have a legitimate phobia of the winning post.

He’s 4th run in now in a campaign where they have spaced his runs, but gets the fortnight back up for this. Runs well at his home track, and the step to 1500m is perfect as he’s probably suspect at the mile.

See how it plays the first couple, but if they can make ground with the rail out, he’s very backable odds.

Kembla Grange, Race 3 – 4. Headstock (TBA)

Well overdue to break out of maiden grade.

Pleased with how he came back. Bounced a little humpy fresh. Then attacked the line strongly after encountering some traffic in the straight.

Stays at 1200m, draws better, home track.

Dry tracks tend to be the key to this breed however statistically he does his best on Soft rated surfaces, and we start on a 5 here.

Should be able to progress to better races this prep.

Rosehill, Race 7 – 7. Encap ($11/$3.40)

Still a maiden but don’t let that perturb you. He is definitely Stakes quality.

Should have won first up. Would have won 2nd up with a better ride. However the winner of that race is fairly handy I think.

He meets that horse a half kg better at the weights, and gets out 100m to 1300m which looks like it will suit.

B Prebble takes the reins here. Double figure odds.

He’s a much better horse than that. In this up to his ears.

Rosehill, Race 8 – 11. Moravia ($16/$4.40)

A classic race and as always a very open affair as we try and line up what has trained on from 2YO, what hasn’t, what is going to need more time, and which of the new kids on the block we need to look out for.

Going with the last option here.

Whilst it’s not unusual for lightly raced horses to run good times over the 900m at Newcastle, this Michael Freedman trained Snitzel colt was exceptional and did it with plenty in store.

Happy to take on the Rosebud from which was a blanket finish.

I thought Libertad looked the obvious danger, but Corniche trialled as well as it and draws better.

Kandinsky Abstract is the pick of them outside of that, and you have to trust McDonald’s judgement. But also draws poor.

Thought the new horse on the scene was worth a play at odds.

Morphetville, Race 8 – 14. See You In Heaven ($2.10)

Was able to sit three deep against a muddling tempo first up and put away a handy field.

This is no harder.

Sandown Guineas winner over a mile last prep. 2nd up, 1400m.

Can’t see what beats it.
