We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, August 13, and provided our best horse racing tips.

After a blowout week last week that saw a triple figure winner in the feature Missile Stakes, we are giving Sydney a wide berth this week and opting for targeting some up and coming gallopers who are racing just down the highway at Kembla Grange.

We’ll also have a look at the strong card at Caulfield which has a real Spring feel to it, whilst we head to one of the most remote tracks in the country for a big play late in the day where we are confident we’ll have plenty in our pocket by then.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, August 13.

Kembla Grange, Race 3 – 7. Headstock ($4.80/$1.95)

He looks like he could furnish into a nice horse once he matures and gets over a bit more ground, but for now we’d be happy to see him open his account with a win in this 1200m maiden event.

The 3YO Headwater gelding having just start number three for Rob and Luke Price who have enjoyed success with this breed in the past.

He should have won on debut when producing an eye catching run out wide late after bombing the start and coming via the cape on the home bend. Then never shirked the task and doing some nice work late when up in grade last start but still at the 1000m.

Drawn to suit here, steps up in trip after finding the line nicely his two runs to date. Just wouldn’t want to see it any worse than soft 7 because if he’s anything like stablemate, Group 2 winning Headwater mare Jamaea, he won’t go in the ground.

Otherwise, well worth an each way ticket and stick with him whatever he does Saturday.

Kembla Grange, Race 4 – 5. Sawrey ($2.80)

Think he was close to a good thing beaten last start and there are some strong form lines appearing out of his past couple for a race like this.

Went down narrowly in a race down the outside rail on a heavy at Goulburn to Yoshino who is a subsequent winner back at Kembla since in a Class 1.

Then he was flattened at a crucial point in a maiden in town. The winner of that is handy having won 2 from 2. And the runner up Aft Cabin went to Sandown on Wednesday, sat three deep the trip, then gave them an absolute galloping lesson in the run home.

This bloke probably should have gone to the line with him last start. He is hard fit with four runs under his belt and gets to the 1400m which looks like it will suit the way he has finished off his past couple. Goes on all ground.

Get on.

Caulfield, Race 5 – 1. Semillion ($8.00/$2.35)

The P.B. Lawrence might be the feature on the card, but this is the best race anywhere in the country on Saturday.

Literally tens of millions of dollars of horse flesh on show here with a cracking field of 3YO colts, most of which are resuming.

With that in mind, we are going for a colt that we know exactly what we are going to get from him.

Will be an interesting contest for the front. He’ll either tuck in behind Alpha One and Cannonball or hold the rail and make them work upside him. I’m happy with either scenario as he does have to give these gallopers weight, but I think he is a different class to them.

His run in the Blue Diamond was phenomenal, crossing from the wide draw and leading to the 100m. And it took Lofty Strike to run him down over this course and distance the start prior, and there is a case to say he may well have been the pick of the Victorian 2YO’s last season.

Nice trial, Jye McNeil up who has a good record on him and he’s an each way price.

Very classy colt who could really liven up the sprinting ranks this Spring.

Kembla Grange, Race 6 – 10. Headwall ($2.30)

Super impressive maiden winner off the back of some nice trials.

Just dwelt a touch on debut and took a while to get there, but when he did he tackled the leader and put a space on him very quickly winning by nearly 2.5L pulling up with over 6L back to third.

A tune-up trial in between where he stepped clean and ate up ground off G3 Vo Rogue winner Tiger Legend late with James McDonald seeking out the ride there.

I was expecting him to bob up in town, so am very pleased they have headed here for what looks an easy kill for a galloper with this sort of ability.

Katherine, Race 7 – 1. Vallabar ($3.10)

If you have never had a bet on Katherine races, then you should make this one your first.

If you’ve never been to the Katherine races, then you are missing out.

One of the great country cup meetings which will see about 4000 hot, sweaty and well hydrated screaming Territorians lining the fences of the Katherine Showground dirt surface come the last as they cheer home this Gary Clarke trained galloper in the last.

Well travelled this bloke, having just his third NT start today after campaigning in Hobart of all places. His two runs on the dirt have been very good, running 4th to former Sydney-sider Gone Bye for his Darwin debut, then he backed that up with a solid third behind stablemate Playoffs in the Darwin Cup.

He’s obviously thriving in his new home and he is just one of four runners that Darwin’s leading trainer is taking to the meeting. They are all sure to be met with good support, but this is the pick of them.
