We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, August 12, and provided our best horse racing tips.
Steering clear of the punter’s death trap that was Moonee Valley a fortnight ago and we are drilling in to the action around NSW and QLD this week, primarily at Rosehill where we have clear skies and a forecast for a good track with a +3m rail position which generally sees the track on point.
We head to Eagle Farm in Brisbane where we have found our best bet of the day, and then venture back down south to Kembla Grange late in proceedings for a long shot play in their last race of the card.
We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, August 12.
Rosehill, Race 6 – 1. Bella Rogue ($8.00/$2.50)
Plenty of form lines to line up here, and plenty creeping up in the weights beneath the top weight who is a very high quality mare.
Although she’s been out of the winner’s stall for over a year, she looks primed for a return on the back of her 2nd up run behind Anagain.
Meets that mare better at weights and measures, hard fit 3rd up and a Rosehill winner. Should have filled a place in the Magic Millions Mares Race.
This race is slightly void of tempo but would only need something to drag her into it and she can unleash her short sharp turn of foot and feature at decent odds.

Eagle Farm, Race 7 – 1. The Bopper ($2.25)
Freakishly talented sprinter who has been kept super fresh for this.
Held up and let work home in his first trial. Scratched from what looked like a winnable race. Then back to the trials where they were heavy handed under a senior rider before allowing him to work to the line under his steam.
Looks ready to unleash some sharp sectionals from the back here in a small field with solid tempo.
Suspect they have a few better races than this in mind for him this time around.

Rosehill, Race 8 – 7. Roussillon ($8.50/$2.30)
Great return first up when resuming a gelding.
Blew the start off an inside draw at The Valley 2nd up on a filthy leader bias track but did enough to suggest we can forgive that run.
It was an effortless win first up. Forget that last run and judge him off what we saw resuming and you have to think he’s in for a big prep.
Has had early support, and is still great value if the each-way betting stands up.

Rosehill, Race 9 – 15. Banana Queen ($8.00/$2.60)
Travelled very strongly in the run first up, perhaps a little bit too strong.
Rider looked to have plenty turning for home but perhaps the effort of fighting a strong senior rider throughout took its toll.
She is much better than that, and I suspect the form out of that race will frank itself earlier on during this card.
They are going to have to ride her cold from the draw, and that is when she is at her devastating best.
Too good to sack off one bad run.

Kembla Grange, Race 8 – 4. Pure Hydrogen (TBA)
A talented miler who they decided to give a run at their home track over 1300m first up in Saturday metro grade race rather than venture too far from home for a more suitable target.
A very negative ride there, snagged hard out of the machine after being unwanted in betting.
They drop back to provincial grade, go straight to the mile second up, and engage one of the better riders on that circuit.
More than capable of winning at this level. Follow the money if there’s any support.
