We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, April 8, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Day 2 of The Championships at Royal Randwick and unlike last week, we are well and truly anticipating a heavy track which aligns perfectly for our best of the day in the feature Group 1, the Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

With quality racing at Sydney’s headquarters, we haven’t had to venture too far from where the main action is for our picks this week, finding three in Sydney, one horse in Brisbane that was racing at Randwick on this day last year, whilst finding another at Newcastle that we anticipate will be racing on feature days in Sydney in the years to come.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, April 8.

Randwick, Race 2 – 6. Rediener ($26/$6.00)

Going to give Kovalica one run and one run only.

Not sold on the early favourite Cool Jakey amongst this bunch. Think there’s three or four here that are a class above him.

Hell I Am was a total forgive first up, loves the wet and could well bounce back here with an even ride. But I’d prefer to see him show something after that last gut buster.

Perfect Thought is another I was prepared to entertain but he was plain in his first trial and then they were very urgent with him in his second trial over the 1050m which tells me he will probably be looking for the run as well.

Always had the opinion that Rediener is within a length of that pair when he puts it together plus he has the run under his belt.

Scratched Wednesday where I gave him a fighting chance at good odds. This is considerably harder but they’ve stayed in, after backing him early doors Wednesday and even re-engaged Moreira.

It’s a soft draw in a race without a lot of speed. He does his best racing at 1400m, when he settles close up and his lone win has come 2nd up.

Roughie of the day in a ripper of a race where there will be future winners come out of for sure.

Randwick, Race 3 – 10. Tiz Invincible ($7.50/$2.35)

Scratched from the first on Wednesday where she looked an absolute moral.

This is a time honoured stakes race for 3YO fillies so for them to hand up a maiden win and opt for this, it tells you she must be showing plenty.

Strong early support, Avdulla to steer from a far better draw than what she copped on debut in the Black Opal.

She probably should have gone close to winning that race, which would see her the pre race favourite here.

Prepared to back the Maher/ Eustace team’s judgement and put her on top here.

Randwick, Race 8 – 2. Dubai Honour ($2.40)

The biggest chink in Anamoe’s amour is the 2000m. He got beat when he was entitled to go past the winner in his first Cox Plate. Then only fell in at his 2nd Cox Plate when he looked like he was going to bolt in.

He won a Rosehill Guineas on quality against what would prove moderate opponents and then looked gone before pulling himself off the deck in the Caulfield Stakes and got home on heart alone.

Missed a place over the tougher 2000m course of Flemington in the Mackinnon. And Randwick is a similarly testing affair as opposed to Rosehill and Moonee Valley. And whilst the criticism of him at the trip might seem harsh, it is valid.

It is no secret the European middle distance horses have the wood on us, and I suggested this horse might be the best horse William Haggas has brought out here before he won first up.

That was on an unsuitable track, without a run under his belt.

On that score, as much as I’d love to see Anamoe win, I can’t see it happening. Especially now we are playing on a rain affected deck.

There’s daylight to 3rd, which leaves Dubai Honour a good thing.

Doomben, Race 8 – 1. Hilal ($4.80/$1.95)

Much better ride under the senior last start, although he still tried it on.

Jimmy Orman sticks, so hopefully lesson learnt. Plus he gets to 1350m.

I imagine they are keeping him at these trips with a 10,000 and Stradbroke tilt in mind as opposed to a Doomben Cup.

On his best, he could win each of those.

We haven’t seen that for a while, but last start tells you he’s heading in the right trajectory again at least.

Should be too good 3rd up at a more suitable trip.

Newcastle, Race 7 – 9. Sports Legend ($6.50/$2.40)

Soft 6 with light showers forecast for Friday then a forecast of a good drying day on Saturday.

If that’s correct, he’s close to the bet of the day.

The draw looks poor on paper but with five emergencies drawn underneath him, the likelihood of scratchings, and speed to burn, I’m not concerned.

He really put it together last start, and if he repeats that, he is good enough to sit deep, particularly on a track that’s likely to have taken a beating on the inside, and still win this in dominant style.

A really exciting talent if they have finally unlocked his full potential.
