We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, April 2, and provided our best horse racing tips.

With Victorian metro racing heading bush this week, and a big query if the Sydney meet will go ahead as per the original schedule, we have had to scout far and wide to find the winners this week. That said, there’s one there in Sydney at too good of a price to risk not giving a mention.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, April 2.

Eagle Farm, Race 2 – 3. Hang Five ($2.05)

A very ordinary ride that raised a few questions on debut when Ben Thompson got a long way out of his ground only to see the stablemate race more prominently and fall in on the line.

With Ben on an extended holiday, Billy Egan took over the reins and he absolutely blew them away second up. Young Jaden Lloyd takes over here with a claim, he draws well and he’s an Astern stepping to 1400m.

Expect him to win, and win well.

Eagle Farm, Race 3 – 14. Street Dancer ($7.00/$2.40)

*This horse has since been stretched.*

I think we might have found one here snuck in on the minimum that a few punters have missed.

A pretty handy galloper this fellow, Group 3 Gloaming Stakes placed over the 1800m, and beaten 5.5L in a million dollar race by the very handy Peltzer.

They’ve gone up a silly price here. Drawn well, Group 3 placed at the trip, gets a claim for in-form apprentice Kyle Wilson-Taylor. He rode him last start in his Queensland debut and was never on the track so expect a sharper ride here. Having just his second start for the Van Dyke yard, I don’t mind seeing him take one over from Anthony Cummings.

Expect improvement.

Goulburn, Race 3 – 8. Didrikson ($4.60)

Two very ordinary trials at the start of this preparation and then very typically Waller, a little let up, a gear change, and she comes out and wins one in good style.

Claiming 1.5kg in a maiden plate, by Not a Single Doubt who swims in the wet, and finds a very weak maiden. That’s a lot of ticks.

Randwick, Race 6 – 3. Let’srollthedice ($12/$3.30)

I have a suspicion the form out of the Golden Slipper could be a little suspect. Fireburn found mid race trouble then sprinted quick after never going around a horse, I don’t think Best of Bordeaux is anything flash and Coolangatta had to be under done but still managed a solid third after being flushed out early on a trying track.

So we are looking to another form line to find the winner here and whilst I’ve been a Shalatin fan for a long time, the fact he had the farrier’s incident and missed a run, I’m reluctantly risking him. Something I was comfortable with upon closer inspection of Let’srollthedice’s videos.

He sprinted quickly and appeared very at ease in the heavy going on debut, then was tradesmen like with his VRC Sires win which was at 1400m. Those two points right there tick two very big variables for a typical 2YO race with very little exposed form.

Damian Lane has followed him to Sydney and he’s drawn to suit. Cannot understand the blow in price.

Randwick, Race 9 – 2. I’m Thunderstruck ($5.00)

Absolutely certain he is the best horse in the race and he’s quite well weighted given most expected he would have picked up an Orr or a Futurity en route to this. That’s saved him a bit of weight he would have otherwise been lumping on heavy ground which is the big question mark here as he hasn’t been on it since he was going through his classes.

He was obviously primed to peak for this and last start’s All Star Mile which is wise, so don’t read too much into his runs prior to that, and he simply found one better than him when runner up to Zaaki.

Ready to win, just a query in the heavy which is indicated in the price, but he is the quality runner. And definitely stick with him if they push the race back to Monday or find an alternative drier venue.

Best Bet – 3. Hang Five (Eagle Farm, Race 2)
Next Best – 14. Street Dancer (Eagle Farm, Race 3)
Best Roughie – 3. Let’srollthedice (Randwick, Race 6)
