Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, April 29, and provided our best horse racing tips.

If you needed any reminder that the Autumn Carnival is over and Winter is well and truly on its way, then look no further than the Sydney weather forecast for this Saturday.

Over an inch of rain forecast with a top temp barely in the 20’s for Rosehill, and things are even more dire at Sandown in Melbourne.

With that in mind we’ve spread our net far and wide this week, with a tip in each of the four main states plus a short priced selection that we think will salute at the provincial meeting in Newcastle in NSW.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, April 29.

Rosehill, Race 1 – 1. Sovereign Fund ($4.40)

I thought he was clearly the horse to beat in the Magic Millions.

The form through his Sydney debut race was very strong. And then he smoked them when he headed to Brisbane to make it 2 from 2.

Most people know the story of Millions day by now, with it being postponed on account of a rogue sprinkler.

Postponements are never ideal for trained to the minute gallopers, least of all 2yo’s, and he was well and truly cooked by the time the track man got it right at the Gold Coast.

Forget that. Even take a line through Summer Loving who he beat comprehensively on debut, and went on to place in the Millions, and this bloke is most likely resuming here a placegetter or even a winner in a $2 million race.

Trialled super, stretching right out late over the 1050m at Randwick. Winner on the soft, but if the forecast is right, it will be a lot worse than that come start time in Sydney.

Race experience will be a big benefit there. Has a bit of quality about him.

Newcastle, Race 2 – 2. Party Doll ($1.70)

Stewards report made for interesting reading last start.

We’ll just call it an ‘overconfident ride’ and leave it at that.

Will be fitter for the hit out, rider only needs to count to five this time and hold it together for an extra 100m.

JVO is the man for the job. Can atone.

Morphettville, Race 5 – 5. Treasurway ($2.90)

Going with the Matt Laurie trained filly that brings fresh formlines to this race.

She’s finished off very strongly in harder company back in Melbourne her past two.

Both of those have been over 1200m. There’s not much between the other two favourites, but both are very green, and have to step out in trip after duking it out over 1100m last start.

C Williams, barrier 1, doesn’t hurt either.

Eagle Farm, Race 9 – 3. Kovalica ($2.35)

Probably short of his best trip but he’s well and truly good enough to win this.

We took him on first up, and they were very negative on him from the outset, allowing him to balance up and sprint home. Thankfully. He really couldn’t have been more impressive in running third and that race has proved a very strong form guide in the past fortnight.

Galloper with genuine star potential who is too good for these.

Sandown, Race 9 – 2. Cherry Tortoni ($9.00/$2.80)

Talented but tricky to catch.

He has had plenty of racing in his career from when we first saw him out over a staying trip in his Spring 3yo season.

They keep him as a hold up 1400m/miler these days, and he resumes here off an extended  break with fresh legs after attacking the line strongly in two recent jump outs.

Sprinkling of early money for him and not hard to see why off the back of those efforts.

He does his best work on soft ground, and with light rain forecast for Friday and a low maximum temperature forecast for Saturday, I think we’ll get that.

Enigmatic talent who could pull out a run here first up after a well earnt holiday.
