Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, April 15, and provided our best horse racing tips.

The last day of the Sydney Autumn Carnival that much like 2023 to date, feels like it has raced by. Hard to believe we are heading to Hawkesbury next week and we’ll soon be talking about the Brisbane Winter Carnival, but first we have to negotiate another quality card at Randwick.

Traditionally this day does throw up some roughies with some tired cattle punching around so we have focused on some horses that have flown a little bit under the radar the past month and might still have that one really good run in them.

We’ve also tapped into the Sydney carnival form with our selection at Sandown, as well as some solid midweek form from Sydney as well with a promising sprinter that has headed north to Brisbane.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, April 15.

Randwick, Race 1 – 1. Osipenko ($2.00)

To say this race has a very questionable list of past winners is to put it mildly.

Renowned for being a clash of the carnival’s 3YO cast offs, this season’s race basically shapes up much the same, barring one runner.

This Chris Waller colt by Pierro has been a real find, albeit winning just the one, but that was the Hobartville which boasts a much better C.V. than this and he is really starting to profile like a Waller galloper that we will be talking about in higher level races over the coming years.

Rounded out his Spring prep with a good 3rd in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas, before resuming strongly, then scoring impressively second up.

Hardly disgraced by Anamoe in the George Ryder, beaten 1.3L after racing handy. Then again in the Doncaster, beaten a fraction over 2L by a genuine top liner and two time Donny winner in Mr Brightside.

Think he has far too much class for this lot who are either tired and coming back in trip, or not up to it ability wise.

Eagle Farm, Race 1 – 8. Headwall ($2.35)

Really like the idea of him going to Brisbane for this.

The muddling tempo and the tight tracks of Sydney midweek racing have been a little problematic for him.

Gets a roomy expanse here in a decent size field with tempo on.

He has shown his quality coming through the grades in Sydney and this is an ideal stepping stone between what he’s done so far, and having a crack at something in NSW in town on a Saturday which might still be a prep away.

Smart play by the stable. Really excited to see him put his best foot forward here.

Randwick, Race 6 – 1. Huetor ($10/$3.30)

He gave us a nibble when he angled clear last start, and I thought we were on once he balanced up.

He just seemed to peak there, which was surprising given he was third up, second go at ten furlongs.

Then again, he had just the one start after his Brisbane winter prior to this prep on account of an eye injury and he is a big gross type so he’s entitled to take a bit longer to come to hand at 6YO.

He’s a price here, and he is a very high quality galloper when he’s right and I saw enough last start to say I’m not going to let him under my guard.

Won’t cost you a lot to find out but he’ll cover more than a round of drinks if he gets up.

Might be ready to put it together again. McEvoy back on board a good lead. Our best roughie.

Randwick, Race 7 – 1. Don Corleone ($3.80)

I think he can turn the tables provided he gets a reasonable track.

I really like the races he has come through with form around Little brose which ties in with Cylinder and Shinzo.

If he can get a good or soft track, and they give him galloping room outside of horses as opposed to ducking and weaving as he’s done his past couple, he might just unleash here.

Always promised to, just been a bit unlucky.

Track the key, just hoping the Sydney weather holds up.

Sandown, Race 7 – 2. Critique ($5.50/$2.05)

Came out of a strong Sydney midweek maiden behind Libertad, and absolutely trounced them at Ballarat.

No reason to jump off here in a field predominantly made up of maiden gallopers.

Hard to believe the early price. Will give this a massive sight.
