The Atlantic Jewel Stakes is a race for 3-year-old fillies and is named after Group 1 winner Atlantic Jewel. The famous mare won a number of big races in her career, including the Caulfield Stakes, Memsie Stakes, All Aged Stakes and The Thousand Guineas.

Stay With Me was the very first winner of the Atlantic Jewel Stakes, claiming victory back in 2015 with Dwayne Dunn on board. Shoals is arguably the most famous winner, having won multiple Group 1 races including the Myer Classic (Empire Rose Stakes) and the Surround Stakes.

Five years in and still no trainer or jockey has claimed victory in the Atlantic Jewel Stakes more than once. However, with the likes of Anthony Freedman, Hayes, Hayes and Dabernig, Damien Oliver and Craig Williams all having tasted success in the race, it’s only a matter of time before that changes.

Exhilarates won the 2019 Atlantic Jewel Stakes in a time of 1:11.40, carrying 57.5kg. However, the race record is actually held by Thrillster, who won in 2018 carrying 57kg in 1:10.70.
