After Barocha saluted on Thursday following a viral text declaring the maiden runner in Sale, a similar message has circulated regarding Corstens trained Ranting, who is running in Saturday’s Group 3 Vain Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield.
Corstens addressed the text message via twitter on Friday, hosing down some of the claims made in the story.
A bigger load of garbage we have not seen! @AgrestaJoe hasn’t ridden work for 2 years. Ranting has never worked with Titan Blinders. Morrissy is trained are GEELONG. Ranting is a nice horse but our stable would never, ever get this carried away. pic.twitter.com/0eXAxsFpnf

Corstens saw the amusing side of the story, picking a few holes in the tall tale.
“Have you ever seen a horse gallop over 880m?” Corstens said.
“I know my track riders are pretty good but please.
“It doesn’t bode well when the other one (Barocha) comes out and wins like it did yesterday – I just hope Ranting comes out and wins like that.
“There’s a big difference between a Sale maiden and the Vain Stakes.
“The horse is really well, we’re really happy with him but we would never get this carried away.”
Ranting is currently a $6 chance in The Vain Stakes, with stablemates Morrissy a $19 hope in the P.B. Lawrence, and Icantoo at $13 in the Quezette Stakes.
Watch plunge horse Barocha salute at Sale on Thursday after being backed in from $6 to $1.70 after a viral text message.
Barocha doesn't let anyone down!
Congratulations @Dougie_5 on your winning debut as a trainer, with none other than @jamieleekah07 in the saddle! pic.twitter.com/3csqImtUem
