Black Caviar was unbeaten in 25 starts, however her fourth foal Ready For Caviar only beat a few runners home in a disappointing performance in the Sportsbet Maiden Plate at Pakenham on Monday afternoon.
The More Than Ready x Black Caviar filly jumped only fairly and sat midfield on the rail from the inside gate, failing to run on in the straight when the opportunity arose.
Jockey Luke Nolen labeled the performance as “disappointing” when speaking after the race, and you can hear his comments being discussed here.

One to follow out of the race looks to be Mr Raikkonen, out of another star sprinter, 2007 Australian Champion Racehorse of the Year, Miss Andretti. Mr Raikkonen flashed home late to place.
You can watch a replay of the race below, with Ready For Caviar in the green silks on the rail.
