2021 All-Star Mile on the Cards for The Harrovian

Tue 1st December 2020

In-form galloper The Harrovian could be aiming towards the 2021 All Star Mile (1600m) at Moonee Valley.

The son of Fastnet Rock chalked up his tenth victory in a row when saluting in Saturday’s listed Tatts Recognition Stakes at Doomben.

The seven-year-old has developed something of a cult hero status since moving north to Queensland, with a record of 15:13-2-0 since the change of location.

Former trainer and part owner Steve Massingham flagged a potential tilt at the 2021 All Star Mile, when speaking to RSN 927 on Tuesday morning.

“The All-Star Mile is something we’d consider,” he said.

“I’m happy to take it one step at a time, get to the Bernborough in about four weeks’ time and go from there.”

“We were hoping to get that wildcard into the Magic Millions but he’s not eligible so that’s off the cards.”

Voting for the 2021 All-Star Mile will open on Wednesday, with Alligator Blood topping the 2020 voting, with 18,500 votes.

From Muswellbrook to the Melbourne Cup, Will is mad about all things racing and sport. Spent countless hours in the backyard as a child pretending to be Glenn McGrath, and has been known to get deadly late swing with a taped tennis ball.
