A high quality field has been assembled for the 2020 Geelong Cup (2400m), with 11 Melbourne Cup aspirants set to go around in the $400,000 event.
The winner of the Geelong Cup will receive an all important weight penalty to move up in the Melbourne Cup order of entry, to solidify their chances at making the final field.
There’s a strong international flavour in the Geelong Cup, with San Huberto, Ashrun, Le Don De Vie, and Skyward all set to make their debuts down under.
Connections will be seeking strong performances to improve their position in the order of entry, with a number of them on the edge of making the final field of 24.
San Huberto is currently 30th in the Melbourne Cup order of entry, with Skyward (37th), Le Don De Vie (38th) and Sound (39th).
