Bonny mare Flit has given Godolphin food for thought after returning to the winner’s circle in the $500,000 Silver Eagle at Randwick.<\/p>\n
The 1300m race is timed as a lead up to the $7.5 million Golden Eagle (1500m) at Randwick in three weeks but trainer James Cummings has stopped short of committing her to a start.<\/p>\n
While the race is among Flit’s spring options, a trip to Melbourne for the Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on the same day is also being considered.<\/p>\n
“She has been flying this preparation without winning,” Cummings said.<\/p>\n
“We just couldn’t see her running a bad race today and yet she was up against some pretty good opposition.<\/p>
