We all dream of landing a massive collect from a quaddie with a few roughies in our numbers saluting, but Saturday’s Caulfield card just wasn’t one of those days.
The track played more fairly than we’ve seen lately, allowing them to run on from wider lanes if they were good enough, which bodes well for spring.
Morrissy got the job done strongly from the wide alley, jumping well and never giving anything else a chance to win it, with his previous fail the last time out the only reason we got $4 rather than something close to $2.50 against this lot.
The Group 3 Bletchingly didn’t attract a star-studded field this year, with last start winner and cult hero Jungle Edge unable to run a drum without the rain coming, and Viridine turning the tables on him and getting the job done.
The final legs went favourite into favourite which contributed to the small quaddie payout, with Mahamedeis saluting in the stayers race, before progressive type Mystery Shot won at skinny odds for the Lindsey Smith operation.

With the quaddie paying just $63.30 it wasn’t a day to write home about, but with The Shark’s suggested quaddie you would have doubled your money, with more bullets in the gun for next week.
