Free Horse Racing Tips - 9th Mar
Tue 8th March 2022
Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, March 9, and provided our best horse racing tips.

If you hear your housemate screaming ‘Wet! Wet! Wet!’, at their computer sometime over the next week, chances are they aren’t trying to play a tune on Spotify by a Scottish soft rock band from the 90’s, rather it is more than likely they’ve just had a look at the track ratings up and down the east coast for the week ahead.

The ‘Big Wet’ as it has become politely known, is set to continue this week but don’t fear, we’ve done the hard work for you.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, March 9.

Canterbury, Race 2 – 2. Spacewalk ($3.60)

*This meeting has been abandoned.*

Some handy 2YO form lines dropping back into this from the raced Godolphin pair but we’ve got the Exosphere colt on top here.

He was excellent on debut when beaten just a shade over 2L by equal Golden Slipper favourite Sejardan after sitting wide throughout from a horror draw. Tipped out after that then led them up in stakes race resuming before being run down the final 100m, then dragged back after drawing the outside his subsequent start where he was probably outclassed but still gave an honest show.

He gets a good draw here third up, down to midweek grade, with Hugh Bowman back on board and we expect him to be too good for these.

Sandown, Race 1 – 9. Glint of Hope ($4.20)

Going with the Busuttin and Young filly here.

They thought enough of her to aim her at the VRC Oaks last campaign. She fell short of the mark on her grand final day but did place twice in stakes grade on the way through and is no doubt a more seasoned filly now.

Straight to 1400m here and back to midweek maiden class, they’ll be looking to win this and more than likely head to Sydney for another Oaks campaign.

Ipswich, Race 1 – 4. Rules Don’t Apply ($3.30)

Not quite the put in, take out job you would normally expect for a Waller runner dropping back in grade and going up in trip but we think this mare has got enough of a class edge to get punters off to a good start here.

She kicked off this campaign in Sydney and the stable thought enough of her to give her a crack at Saturday grade second up. She wasn’t up to them there but has been pretty honest since in tougher races than this. Her wet tracks are sound, this will be her fifth run for the preparation, and she gets the services of Larry Cassidy.

A couple here looking to continue to string wins together but we think her class edge will prevail.

Ipswich, Race 2 – 7. Sacred Oath ($1.55)

Staying in the ‘Sunshine State’ here, ironically on a heavy 10, but we think the powerful combination of Van Dyke/Maloney can brighten up punter’s faces.

Strong support on debut and looked to be cruising on the corner when he loomed upside of the lead filly. It became a race in to but the horse with the fitness edge won out leaving a considerable margin to third.

This is no harder and he strips fitter heading out in trip from a draw where he should almost be able to dictate and he is by a Kiwi stallion who was a dead set swimmer.

Looks a good thing.

Ipswich, Race 7 – 7. Gypsy Goddess ($1.75)

*This horse has since been scratched.*

She will be well fancied in this, just as she is well fancied in the Australian Oaks.

She is on the second line of betting for that race and we expect her to continue on her winning ways here.

Some good judges and industry types in her ownership and in the hands of one of the country’s best conditioners. She has been very impressive in her 4 from 4 wins to date and she will look to tick this off and head south for bigger riches.

The best of the day and worth anchoring in your multi’s for the day.

Best Bet – 7. Gypsy Goddess (Ipswich, Race 7)
Next Best – 2. Spacewalk (Canterbury, Race 2)
3rd Best – 7. Sacred Oath (Ipswich, Race 2)
