Free Horse Racing Tips - 16th Mar

Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, March 16, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Certainly some positive signs about the country with the wild weather that has plagued the eastern states starting to show some signs of abating. We head to the Kensington track in Sydney which although still rated at heavy at time of publication, the forecast is a lot milder than what we’ve seen over the past month. Likewise Sandown in Melbourne, whilst remarkably we look like getting back on to a good surface in Brisbane.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, March 16.

Randwick, Race 1 – 7. Stylish Pedrille ($7.00/$2.25)

If you were in any doubt as to whether the recent run of weather has proven problematic for horse trainers, then we suggest you have a look at this race.

All sorts of form lines bouncing around here with plenty coming off all-weather track trials or some simply coming off extended spells with no hit out at all under their belt for which you can only assume this is the substitute.

One horse that did have a grass hitout is Stylish Pedrille and although she only went 735m, she looked racey and ready, and as if she was singing out for something a little more genuine than a jump and run trial.

Master horseman Ron Quinton has had some of his biggest successes with this breed, and he teams up with his former apprentice Sam Clipperton here.

This is a wide open affair, but at each way odds and given the stable’s affinity with the family, we think she’s worth a genuine each way bet.

Randwick, Race 2 – 2. Waterford ($2.60)

It pays to pay attention when Nash Rawiller is hungry for a winner. No luck for the best in the business on his recent trip south which is all the more reason to back him first ride back in town.

He’s been cherry picked for this ride by some of the industries heaviest hitters who are tied up with this horse.

No trial for this import who goes straight to a 1400m maiden first up with Nash locked in and very heavily supported from the time the prices went up.

Going to be skinny enough, but the push suggests he’s shown plenty at home and the plan to not trial him reeks off a kill.

Suggest you would want to be involved.

Sandown, Race 1 – 3. Lalaguna ($2.50)

Not sure there’s a stable or rider that you’d want to get around more than this pair of late.

Jamie Kah is back to her best, as highlighted by her recent Adelaide Cup win, and Ciaron and David are simply doing Ciaron and David things, again.

Well bred, reasonably well drawn, trialed good and a rider full of confidence aboard in a mediocre maiden.

It does seem a winning combo.

Eagle Farm, Race 2 – 3. Exceed Tycoon ($8.50/$2.45)

Dual acceptor at both Eagle Farm and Ipswich. Significant change of scenery for this horse which may prove the key to unlocking the potential he has shown glimpses of to date.

Now in the hands of David Joice who has recently returned to the training ranks and if his strike rate from when he previously had a small team in work at the Gold Coast is anything to go by, punters will be well served to have a little nibble at this lightly raced gelding.

Follow him whichever meeting he heads to.

Randwick, Race 3 – 1. Stalking ($2.90)

Looks like it is her day today.

Very nice filly by Animal Kingdom for the powerful Godolphin team here in a 1550m maiden who gets the services of Nash Rawiller after a strong first up performance.

Came from well back on the turn at Kembla Grange last start and closed gamely suggesting she has come back in excellent order after contesting black type races at her previous campaign.

Not overly deterred by the wide draw as her pattern is to get back anyway, and there is good reason why she is carrying the top weight against her own age in a maiden handicap event after honest efforts in some of the lead up races to the VRC Oaks in the Spring.

Looks one of the better bets of the day.

Best Bet – 1. Stalking (Randwick, Race 3)
Next Best – 2. Waterford (Randwick, Race 2)
Best Roughie – 7. Stylish Pedrille (Randwick, Race 1)
