Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, January 26, and provided our best horse racing tips.

It’s Australia Day and if there’s one thing that Aussies love more than a public holiday in the middle of summer, it has to be when it falls on hump day and there is a quality card of racing on. And given it’s our national holiday, we thought we would stretch the tips right out across this big brown land

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, January 26.

Warwick Farm, Race 1 – 2. Mars Mission ($1.80)

Very promising colt from the powerful Team Hawkes yard. He had genuine excuses on debut when they walked mid race after he had settled worse than midfield.
He has taken up a more prominent role in his two trials this time in, the last of which he showed an explosive turn of foot to win easily. He’s going to be very hard to beat. Take the all up with Enthaar.

Ipswich, Race 2 – 4. Eccentric ($3.80)

Unraced Snitzel filly from the strong Kelly Schweida yard on the Gold Coast.

She ran into Plague Stone at the trials who is a former Godolphin Saturday metro winner in Sydney. She was clearly no match for him, but looked to have the rest covered easily and meets a very moderate field of tried maiden gallopers here.

A good trainer and jockey combo to find at Ipswich and she looks to be better than this lot.

Caulfield, Race 4 – 3. Enthaar ($1.65)

Probably not going to cover expenses for the beverages and the B-B-Q on Australia Day at this price, but she does look like a good thing.

Most likely the highest quality galloper racing on the day, she’s a Caulfield and 1000m specialist, and she should have a bit on this lot.

Still tasty enough odds to play her around in your multis.

Darwin, Race 1 – 2. Turnstar ($1.90)

Has had a few homes this fellow including Team Hawkes and hall of famer Lee Freedman’s Gold Coast stables but we think he might have finally found the right one with Darwin’s Philip Cole.

An unusually formatted race, 3yo’s and Maidens, which almost always go to the 3yo’s with upside and this bloke fits the bill perfectly.

Will probably camp off these from the sticky draw but should have no problem rounding them up in the straight if his runs down south are anything to go by and looks set to etch out a handy career in the Top End.

Caulfield, Race 6 – 2. Crosshaven ($9.00)

We’ll stay at Caulfield for the feature of the day with our best roughie selection.

He’s been out of the winner’s stall for 18 months and is very hard to catch but there was enough merit in his run in the Chester Manifold to suggest he could turn the tables on a few here.

He was off a five week freshen there and just dwelt when the machine opened before driving through to take up a spot outside the lead. His rider looked to have a lapful at the top of the straight before his condition just gave out late.

Sure to strip fitter, stays at the 1400m, J Allen sticks, we think he’ll be in this for a long way.

Best Bet – 3. Enthaar (Caulfield, Race 4)
Next Best – 2. Turnstar (Darwin, Race 1)
Best Roughie – 2. Crosshaven (Caulfield, Race 6)
