Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, January 12, and provided our best horse racing tips.

A big day’s racing is coming up this Saturday with the annual running of the Gold Coast Turf Club’s Magic Millions raceday and with some improving conditions around the country, the Wednesday card looks a good opportunity to fill the coffers for the weekend ahead.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, January 12.

Doomben, Race 2 – 6. Private Sector ($2.70)

Ex-Melbourne based galloper transferred to the QLD arm of the Freedman brothers racing empire.

He did a bit wrong and probably cost himself the race at his only QLD start. Appears to be a work in progress but has had a couple of nice trials this time in. Gave nothing a look in the first one, and the rider sat up on him late in the second where he went to the line untouched.

Has a bit of race experience on these and looks ready.

Warwick Farm, Race 3 – 1. De Grawin ($3.20)

It appeared she did not come up last preparation but her recent trial and her first up run would indicate she is back to somewhere near the form that saw her win four of her first six career starts.

Has her share of weight but there is good cause for that, that being she is the quality runner of the field and we expect Rachel King to have her handy from the good draw and looking for a sustained on pace effort at the 1000m.

Would only have to run up to her last start to win this and worth noting the excellent record of Joe Pride runners on rain affected tracks.

Warwick Farm, Race 4 – 2. Travest ($6.50)

We wouldn’t go as far as to describe him as an enigmatic talent, but he certainly has more ability than his record suggests. That said, he has been a very costly prospect for punters but we think they might have finally got it right here.

There has been a boom on him since he kicked off but it is fair to say that was very much over stated, and whilst it is hard to line up the quality of a Midway, with a midweek Bm72, I would consider this is the easiest race he has contested for some time.

He just never travelled last start in the shadow roll let, that comes off and the shades go on and he has given the impression he is a blinkers horse for a very long time, it is just surprising it has taken connections so long.

His best record is on rain affected going and his record on his home track is excellent. Can atone for his long list of past sins.

Doomben, Race 6 – 4. Kerchak ($1.65)

A veteran of just two starts, and nearly broke the track record winning his maiden at his latest outing.

Still did a bit wrong there but Ryan Maloney sticks, connections have found a nice C1 midweeker to progress him and being by Tarzino, stepping out past a mile looks absolutely ideal.

Expect him to win this, and win it well.

Doomben, Race 7 – 5. Harlequin Field ($8.00)

This 4yo son of Deep Field has presented to win at his past couple but just hasn’t quite been able to get the job done. We are tipping Rawiller taking over the reins from Nothdurft will do the trick though.

Drawn to go forward and fitness should certainly be of no issue at this stage of the preparation with him stepping out in trip.

A big chance to return to the winner’s circle here.

Best Bet – 4. Kerchak (Doomben, Race 6)
Next Best – 2. Travest (Warwick Farm, Race 4)
Best Roughie – 5. Harlequin Field (Doomben, Race 7)
