We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, February 9, and provided our best horse racing tips.
We head to regular midweek venues Warwick Farm in Sydney, and Sandown’s Hillside course in the south-east of Melbourne whilst we should get back to somewhere close to a good surface at Ipswich after their most recent program fell over after just one race due to inclement weather.
We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, February 9.
Warwick Farm, Race 1 – 3. Robusto ($2.15)
These look a fairly evenly bunched lot on paper so are we going with the Waller colt who has a bit of race experience on his side, plus a recent fitness run, not to mention impeccable breeding.
Probably short enough around odds on but Waller runners generally find their best going out in trip, he gets the services of McDonald, from a good draw and is a valuable colt going forward so imagine they are trying to pick a couple of these off before eyeing off bigger targets down the line.
Ipswich, Race 2 – 9. Turn Me Over ($3.70)
Looks to have found his right home in Queensland and looks to have found the right race to break his maiden.
Was doing his best work over the concluding stages before being tightened late, over the 1400m. He gets out past a mile here second up, leading senior rider Larry Cassidy stays on board and drawn to get a gun run from barrier two.
Larry Cassidy produces a beautiful ride on Jubai Pride to take out the last at @SCTurfClub! Well found by Damian Courtney at $6.50 💰 pic.twitter.com/OA4DvOLnEf

Warwick Farm, Race 5 – 2. Geo ($5.50/$2.00)
Very sparingly raced 5yo gelding out of former all conquering filly Samantha Miss. He obviously has had some soundness issues but has looked good when he puts it all together in his two wins from seven starts to date.
Got no further than a couple of trials last preparation when he was tipped out and they had to start again but he has looked good winning his two most recent trials, the latest an effortless all the way win on the inside grass at Newcastle.
The residual fitness and not having a hard preparation last time in should have him quite forward for this and he is well and truly up to a mid week first up raid in town if he is right.
Worth an each way ticket.
Sandown, Race 3 – 4. Matron Bullwinkle ($4.50)
We have a sneaking suspicion that a 0.75L defeat to Green Belt in a better race than a midweek Bm64 will read pretty handy. So with that in mind we’ve this Maher/ Eustace trainer galloper our best of the day.
He took every bit of the straight to wind up last time in, that was at the Lakeside circuit so he is sure to appreciate the longer run home of the outside course of Hillside.
We love the fact he is 3rd up and staying at a mile plus current hot jock Jye McNeil sticks.
Represents tremendous value at present.
Warwick Farm, Race 6 – 6. Ashim ($11/$3.50)
Import who looked to progress through the grades in Sydney on the back of his first two runs however has been disappointing since.
There was strong support for him first up over what looked an unsuitable trip. He was slow out and never in the hunt, only starting to build into it before meeting with some interference in the concluding stages.
The late betting push suggests they were expecting a better showing so we are prepared to give him another chance at odds in what clearly is a very open maiden with highly regarded ‘non-winner’ Overlord currently holding favouritism at $6.00.
Best Bet – 4. Matron Bullwinkle (Sandown, Race 3)
Next Best – 9. Turn Me Over (Ipswich, Race 2)
Best Roughie – 6. Ashim (Warwick Farm, Race 6)
