Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Wednesday, February 23, and provided our best horse racing tips.

With small field sizes we have had our work cut out for us this week scouring the form pages for Sandown, Gosford, the Sunshine Coast, and even Mount Gambier to find value for you.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Wednesday, February 23.

Mt Gambier, Race 1 – 1. Nudge ‘Em Along ($3.80)

Not a lot in this as you might expect, but there are enough positives here to suggest this 4yo gelding is worth a ticket on debut.

Locally trained galloper who comes into a respectable draw after emergencies and the 3kg claim in a maiden handicap for a debutant generally comes in handy.

Stacey Callow has already ridden 13 winners from less than 100 starts and we think she can add to that tally here and get the punters off to a good start.

Gosford, Race 4 – 4. Endorsement ($2.60)

Three year old Hinchinbrook gelding and typical of the breed he looked quite forward and a touch hot in his recent trial.

He was first time with the blinkers on there and Hugh Bowman was able to settle him outside the pace and he was still able to finish off strongly.

We expect he’ll be all the better for the experience and the fact Hugh Bowman sticks with him is a big plus.

Looks a very winnable race for him to open the account with.

Sandown, Race 1 – 7. Grinzinger Queen ($7.00)

We are getting a decent price here about one of the most powerful trainer/jockey combinations in the country, in what would have to be close to the worst race on the program.

Very hard to tip this filly off her previous form but she put her best foot forward to date with a recent trial win at Geelong. Finding the line strongly there over 1000m, suffice to say she hasn’t come close to producing anything near that so far in her career.

On breeding, you would certainly expect her to be quite dour, however she won’t have to be real sharp to beat this lot and we really like her going straight to 1300m with the added bonus of one of the country’s leading riders aboard.

Has genuine claims at decent odds.

Gosford, Race 5 – 2. Kinloch ($6.00)

He’s a tricky customer who failed to register a win last preparation after a promising start to his career, but he did pull out a very good run first up in much harder company than this, then was the victim of a couple of poor rides, all in Saturday metro grade.

Drawn well, and whilst Gosford isn’t exactly to his liking, the engagement of strong rider in Nash Rawiller certainly is.

He trialed him recently where he found the line strongly and that booking might just be enough to see the Kris Lees galloper return to the winner’s stall.

Sandown, Race 8 – 9. Marimenko ($5.00)

Should be primed for this third up. Let’s forget he went around on a bias track at Moonee Valley first up and judge him off his solid second up effort.

He did a bit of work to get outside lead and looked to be travelling as they turned for home. As so often is the case, the long run home at Sandown looked like it had found him out and he was entitled to drop out on a number of occasions but kept finding.

He stays at the 1400m and Kersley stays aboard, and this looks easier than last outing.

Best Bet – 2. Kinloch (Gosford, Race 5)
Next Best – 4. Endorsement (Gosford, Race 4)
Best Roughie – 7. Grinzinger Queen (Sandown, Race 1)
