Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, October 8, and provided our best horse racing tips.

With the big wet looking set to continue across Sydney, we’ve shifted our focus to the feature Caulfield Guineas meeting in Melbourne.

We’ve made four selections at Caulfield, and just the one at Randwick and are confident we can come out in front for the day.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, October 8.

Caulfield, Race 7 – 2. I’m Thunderstruck ($6.00)

Comes out of two races for the ages his past two and has not shirked the task in either scoring a narrow win over Alligator Blood in the Makybe Diva, then just missing in the Underwood.

Think I’d rather be sticking with the horses out of those races than what Anamoe has been beating in Sydney.

They just rode this gelding a bit too cute at Sandown getting out to 1800m and with the huge run home. There was a distinct pattern off the fence there established early on and whilst on paper it would seem to suit this horse, the number he drew and the extra ground he was forced to cover on the corner just nullified him late.

He still has to prove he’s not just a brilliant miler, but prepared to back that in here. And think his last run shows he can beat Zaaki who has been his nemesis in the past and he has proven he can run down Alligator Blood.

Was able to beat him off the 1 there which is key here and will be more of a help than a hindrance around Caulfield in a small field. And the time for cute rides is over with his next assignment being his Grand Final at Moonee Valley in a Cox Plate where you can’t so much as miss a step let alone lose sight of the bunny for a period.

The Makybe Diva run showed he is ready for that big breakthrough win and he’s the horse I want to be with both here and in a fortnight’s time.

Caulfield, Race 8 – 3. Golden Mile ($2.80)

This looks a put in and take out job here.

Most barns would be devastated to lose a Caulfield Guineas favourite just over a week out from the stallion making Group 1, but in the old Melbourne Storm, Brett Bellamy analogy, it is simply a case of next man up here.

This Golden Rose and the Sydney form is what you want to be tapping into here. Whilst Jacquinot is a Melbourne horse, he had that strong run in the Golden Slipper as his reference point plus a win over Aft Cabin who kicked off in midweek grade in Sydney before coming to Melbourne and smoking them in two of his three runs.

That just puts this bloke on another plane to his rivals in this.

James Cummings, James McDonald, barrier 5. Nothing else to add other than the more you put on, the more you’ll get back.

Best of the day.

Randwick, Race 8 – 9. Loch Eagle ($11/$3.50)

Always had an opinion of this horse and his win resuming was simply too good to go past here.

He has always been there abouts in this kind of company with comparable form lines through more fancied chances Mr Mozart in the Hawkesbury Guineas, having twice met Vilana last prep and there is also a sneaky reference through Espiona and the field he trounced first up.

He was able to round them up there from last against a +6m rail pattern on a soft at Canterbury. He gets a +8m rail here with a longer run home to let down on at Randwick where he is Stakes placed along with Group placing on the roomy Eagle Farm circuit.

Plus he is 2 from 4 on the heavy, and by noted wet track sire Lonhro. Is a winner at 1400m and a last start winner at 1250m which aligns well for the 1300m on a heavy 2nd up of which he is one start, one win from his two campaigns to date.

Certainly in the thick of it on those stats and at weights and measures on exposed form. You are just taking a punt that he has been a slow maturing type and the penny has finally dropped at 4YO into his 3rd prep.

And that win at Canterbury would suggest it really has. Loch Eagle in the Silver Eagle.

Caulfield, Race 9 – 6. Hilal ($23/$5.50)

Went to the line with Nimalee first up in the Missile. She’s since placed in a G2 behind Zaaki and bagged a G2 in her own right.

Then ridden upside down and given a good hitout in the Winx Stakes, overrun by Anamoe late. A horse he got within a quarter of a length of in the Hobartville. That reads quite good here.

Three career runs at a mile, two Group 1 placings and a win in a million dollar race.

Forget he went around last start. Never on the track, went early, and never happy in the going.

There is a case to say he doesn’t go the Melbourne way, but he is a more mature colt this time around and the Hawkes team are as good as anyone at travelling them.

He is inclined to turn it up if he’s not in the hunt, which I think was the case last start. C Williams, barrier 2, his right trip, and hopefully his right track if the rain holds off.

Huge odds for a galloper of this quality.

Caulfield, Race 10 – 3. Zapateo ($2.20)

She was very good to us last start late in the day and it looks a repeat dose here.

Very high quality mare who again brought that deep Sydney form to the contest last start and it really stood up.

She won very well there and gets very similar conditions here.

Drawn a little bit trickier today but you have D Oliver piloting which generally negates bad steering concerns.

Could round out another massive day for Team Blue, and hopefully a fat day for Racing Sharks fans.
