We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, July 30, and provided our best horse racing tips.
We are following up with some of our selections from last week’s postponed meeting from Rosehill where we are once again confident in our ‘Good Thing’ who has been very kind to us in recent weeks. And for punters who just can’t get enough late in the day, we venture to the Top End where we’ve gone with an NT warhorse to finally breakthrough in their feature race, The Palmerston Sprint as we ramp up into Darwin Cup on August 1.
We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, July 30.
Rosehill, Race 2 – 5. Hell I Am ($8.00/$2.75)
He was there abouts last prep this horse where they thought enough of him to really chase a Magic Millions start. That didn’t go quite to plan but he looks to have returned in good order for his second campaign with a nice first up win.
Ignore the times there on a day they did well to race. He couldn’t have done any more that day, landing outside the lead and winning comfortably on the line.
The runner up there was disappointing when it ventured to town last start but he was ridden far too close and was in the worst going so you are probably best served to ignore that.
He handles the ground we know, and he has the speed to work across from the outside draw as he did last start. If he can land in the same spot, expect him to be very hard to hold out.

Rosehill, Race 5 – 14. Glacier Queen ($19/$5.00)
She is well worth an each way ticket here at big odds and is our ‘Best Roughie of the Day’ play.
Very disappointed with the ride from Bowman on the Kensington track last start. He took a couple of poor options there and Tommy Berry takes over here down at 54.5kg.
Thought she would (and should) have won last start, and would progress to Saturday grade. If she comes into this a last start winner she is well in the market at double figure odds so punters are really getting excellent value here.
She is a very progressive mare who has improved with each run and looks genuine Saturday metro class, so no reason to think she can’t run a cheeky race in this.

Rosehill, Race 8 – 9. Jojo Was a Man ($3.80)
He was our best of the day when they called them off last week and there’s no reason to jump off here a week later.
He is flying this horse. Winner three of his last five and should have won his latest when found trouble in the straight late after camping deep throughout.
He is relishing these winter tracks. No concerns with the extra week as the horse is already hard fit and well into his prep.
Really like him and would love to see him deservedly breakthrough at stakes grade.

Rosehill, Race 9 – 2. Rocketing By ($8.50/$2.75)
Have a lot of respect for this 4YO So You Think gelding now back in the care of Dave Pfieffer.
He has had a lot of success with the breed in the past including winning the million dollar Inglis Sprint for 3YO’s with this bloke.
Noted in the stewards report that he recently had arthroscopic surgery to remove knee chips which would appear to have hampered his previous preparation, but he is a very smart horse when right and his recent trials tell you he is back feeling good and near his best.
Very good wet stats and the extra week with this meeting being postponed wouldn’t have hurt him at all.
Going to be very hard to hold out.

Darwin, Race 7 – 2. Eastwood ($9.00/$3.00)
No horse in this year’s time honoured Palmerston Sprint deserves to win the race more than this bloke and he appears to be going as well as ever, and might finally breakthrough in the Darwin sprint feature at attempt number three.
Fourth in the race last year, and a luckless third in 2020 with a bold runners up effort in the Pioneer Sprint in Alice Springs and a 5th beaten less than 2L in Broome’s Sprint feature, he is one of the territories very best open company sprinters.
Lumped top weight of 61kg first up after his Alice trip and conceded winner Syncline 5kgs that day for a 3L defeat. He trims that back to 3kgs here with the benefit of another hit out under his belt.
Probably a touch disappointing on paper that day second up, but he dwelt and was made use of early, and looked in need of the run.
Set to peak third up and has a lot of quality about him. Darwin’s leading feature race rider Paul Shiers sticks with him and he’s drawn to just camp off them so you can expect him to pounce on them late.
Hopefully Eastwood can make our day with a win in the last at Fannie Bay.
