We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, January 15.
Kembla Grange, Race 2 – 4. Eye Pea Oh ($6.00)
*Meeting has been abandoned.*
Hoping this meeting holds up so we can have something on this filly.
She didn’t show much the first time around but has looked sharp winning her two trials this time in, both in handy time.
The track is rated a heavy there, but we expect her to be out in front of them for most of the way, and she is out of a Pins mare which gives us confidence she will handle the ground.
Looks like a winnable race for a smart debutant.
Gold Coast, Race 5 – 14. Isotope ($3.50)
An absolute put in and take out job for mine here and this mare will never get an easier pay day.
Should have won the 3yo classic last year until Maloney bizarrely fell off with an absolute lap full of horse under him.
Only had the two runs since, her win at Rosehill in the Darby Munro was outstanding and the effort in the Arrowfield oozes class.
She already has a victory over favourite Away Game and has panels on the rest of the field. Should be odds on.
Rosehill, Race 7 – 2. The Bopper ($2.20)
Has always shown plenty of promise and his win first up would have been justification for not only his backers but also the stable who have always held him in high regard.
That was his first win since the Brian Crowley nearly 18 months ago and he did it pretty comfortably despite being held up for a good while in the straight.
Imagine he’ll pick a few of these benchmark races off now on his way to better things.
Gold Coast, Race 7 – 3. Stupendo ($20/$4.80)
Righto! Let’s take on the favourite in the big one of the day.
The map is generally a nightmare in this race and this year is no different. Assuming the emergencies come out, then the favourite jumps from 10, leaving 9 horses inside it of which half will be looking to make use of the advantage of the low number gate.
I doubt there’s too many that will have the brilliance to match this filly but there can be little doubt they will make McDonald work to get there.
Stupendo is $26 into $15 for the Magic Millions 2YO Classic after today’s win! https://t.co/4PITuPbprD

This ensures tempo and whilst Coolangatta was able to do it at both ends last start, is she able to stand up to an even more high pressure race from a sticky draw at this early stage of her career?
If she does, she’s an out and out star, but at the odds we think it’s worth a throw at the stumps with the O’Brien colt.
He was great on debut even though the form out of that isn’t that solid. And they went quicker in the girl’s division on the same day then they did in the boy’s race at his latest outing of which he finished runner up. But the big plus with him is that he knows nothing.
He’s had one go down the straight at Flemington, then straight onto a tight turning right handed track. He lines up for start number three here and has had a look at the Gold Coast circuit now, and whilst it will take some brilliance from Craig Williams, if he is close enough on the bend, this colt has the turn of foot to run them down late.
Gold Coast, Race 8 – 2. Jamaea ($5.50)
We are putting our faith in the horsemanship of Robert and Luke Price here and that is something we are more than comfortable with.
Would have loved to have seen her with that 1200m run under her belt but mother nature conspired against her that day with the meeting eventually falling over due to bad weather and she comes into this, 1400m, first up.
Probably not ideal, but the trial since was excellent, one around the hind quarter and she goes straight past them. She is drawn well and will get her preferred track come race day with the improving weather forecast.
Looks to have come up, and has a fair bit of quality over this lot.
Best Bet – 14. Isotope (Gold Coast, Race 5)
Next Best – 2. Jamaea (Gold Coast, Race 8)
Best Roughie – 3. Stupendo (Gold Coast, Race 7)
