Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, February 12, and provided our best horse racing tips.

We are still in the first half of February, but there is a distinct Autumn Carnival feel to this week’s racing highlighted no doubt by the return of superstar mare and Melbourne Cup winner, Verry Elleegant.

No need to look too far afield with such high quality racing in the two main states so our focus this week is on Randwick and Caulfield.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, February 12.

Randwick, Race 1 – 2. Metallicity ($1.95)

They’ve been keeping their powder dry with this colt, keeping him ticking over at the trials and waiting for the right race.

He’s had the three barrier trials to date and while the times have been moderate, he hasn’t been out of third gear yet.

Looks an exciting prospect and they’ve found the right race. Should get punters off to a flyer.

Randwick, Race 5 – 1. Wairere Falls ($4.80)

We were very keen on him second up where he loomed but just looked like he needed one more. Surprised they not only backed him up but they came back in trip on him.

We let him go around there and he got under our guard, and whilst weights and measures suggest stablemate Yiyi should better him here, we liked the way he went past him and we really like him back to Randwick and at a mile. Think he can overcome the weight pull to make it back to back wins.

Randwick, Race 7 – 3. Jamaea ($8.50)

It has been a far from ideal start to the campaign for this highly promising filly for the father and son team of Robert and Luke Price. A washed out meeting for her planned first up assignment in Queensland, back to the trials at the Gold Coast, then a tricky draw and a pretty ordinary ride Magic Millions day, but now she is back home and settled in we think she is ready to show her best.

Her recent Sydney trial would certainly suggest that in which she was third to Quantico and Lost and Running and doing every bit as well as them over the final stages.

A very smart filly when she is right who loves Randwick and Tommy Berry stays on and will certainly be looking to atone with stable rider Brock Ryan no doubt breathing down his neck for an opportunity to throw the leg over one his master’s star gallopers and bag another feature for them.

Represents great value.

Randwick, Race 8 – 4. I Am Superman ($11/$3.50)

Some of the stars of the turf resuming here and whilst this field oozes quality, most of them have a long road ahead and are coming off extended Autumn campaigns.

From where we sit, that looks like it opens up the door for an upset result which is most likely going to come from a horse coming off a light campaign and with a bit of residual race fitness on their side.

This impressive looking gelding from the Snowden yard fits that description perfectly. He had his runs well spaced through the back end of last year and trialled strongly off a nine week let up finding the line better than anything else is a black type trial behind Riodini. His previous run was a good second to Sinawann who will start favourite in the Group 1 CF Orr at Caulfield.

Best roughie of the day.

Caulfield, Race 9 – 1. Probabeel ($1.90)

Absolute bonny kiwi mare who won this race last year and this is no harder.

Horses of her quality have outstanding records in Set Weights and Penalties races and this looks an absolute put in, take out job for the punters here.

Drawn well, gets the services of internationally renowned rider Brett Prebble, she looks the bet of the day, we just hope we’re still in front come the last!

Best Bet – 1. Probabeel (Caulfield, Race 9)
Next Best – 3. Jamaea (Randwick, Race 7)
Best Roughie – 4. I am Superman (Randwick, Race 8)
