Free Horse Racing Tips - 3rd Dec
Fri 2nd December 2022
Overwhelmed?

Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, December 3, and provided our best horse racing tips.

There exists a very small window between the second Saturday at Flemington in November, and that date in late December is when all the fun stops for 24 hours.

Some people call it Christmas, some people call it torture. Either way, there’s about three good punting days left in the calendar year. And this Saturday is one of them.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, December 3.

Doomben, Race 2 – 1. Kovalica ($1.75)

Every now and then in this profession you are inclined to get a horse that tugs at your heart strings better than most.

This Ocean Park gelding has certainly done that to me and I’d be very surprised if we see him in our parts much beyond this weekend.

He looks an ideal Hong Kong Derby prospect at 4YO. Whether they want to wrap him in cotton wool after Saturday, or want to keep their nose in the feed bag come Autumn remains to be seen.

Suffice to say, he should just be winning this.

A very exciting prospect.

Pakenham, Race 4 – 3. Squid Game ($6.00/$2.25)

Really smart galloper who comes to hand quickly.

They always trial neutral out of this stable so wouldn’t read too much into the jump outs/ trials.

Should have gone closer first up last start, and should have just won second up. It would seem highly unlikely history repeats here if this bloke hasn’t lost a leg.

Each-way, all day.

Doomben, Race 4 – 6. Street Dancer ($4.20)

Stalked the right horse into the race, when probably a run short, second up, over an unsuitable trip, and just got out sprinted over 1600m.

Loomed as half a chance at the top of the straight, even though he was probably a fair way off fitness wise and in an unsuitable race.

He goes right to 2000m third up, gets M Cahill, draws soft. Just a lot of ticks.

He would only need to stay on trend and run up to his QLD form for Van Dyke, let alone find his Sydney 3YO form, and he’ll beat this lot up.

Darwin, Race 1 – 8. To The Point ($13/$3.70)

If you’re onto a good thing, then stick with it.

Which is exactly what we’ve got from the Chloe Baxter yard over recent months, and it is exactly why we are going back to the Top End for one of our best bets of the day.

When we last tipped her, she teamed up leading NT hoop Casey Hunter to record a 7L victory with the promising First Crusade first up. And here we see the ‘old firm’ together again and teaming up in a low grade 1300m race with a horse that in all likelihood is destined for much higher honours than this.

This Bull Point gelding has been crying out for 1300m plus, basically since he recorded back to back wins over the short courses when resuming. He gets the right race now, in which Hunter only needs to have him within striking distance on the corner, and there’s nothing in this that can go with him in the run home.

The more you put on, the more you’ll get back.

Pakenham, Race 7 – 5. Fifth Position ($8.50/$2.70)

We are certainly getting to the thin edge of the wedge in terms of middle distance/ stayers for Open company feature races by late December in Melbourne. But here we are, no less, and believe it or not, I think we’ve found a good one.

There’s two ways you can go about things from here. You can back horses coming back in grade that have been unlucky throughout their long Spring, or you can back horses progressing in grade that you are probably going to be backing come Spring next year.

Fifth Position might be a 7YO, but he is very lightly raced for his age, and shows enough to say he could be in conversations come September and October ‘23.

He boxed on gamely two back when caught up in the back half of the field on a track with a short run home. He was an eye-catching runner up there. Then probably should have run top 3 his next start when D Oliver made an inordinate amount of bad calls from the 500m.

White blinkers on a brown horse with a basically plain brown head are a bad idea, but even though he appeared to resent being ridden quite last start, he never looked like getting beat, and paid nearly $20!

Daniel ‘Buckets’ Moor only needs to switch him off for the back half of the race, and he’ll be too good for this lot come the business end.
