Overwhelmed?

We'll message you the best tips for today!

We have studied the form from all races across the country for Saturday, August 6, and provided our best horse racing tips.

Nice to see a turn for the better in the weather along the east coast, just as it is nice to see some very nice horses resuming for stakes racing.

If you need any further proof that Spring is just around the corner, just a quick scour of the form guide for this weekend and it will give you a very strong push that the warmer weather is on its way.

Quality fields at both Randwick and Flemington with a nice support card at Doomben.

We have made five selections in total and are confident that we have found you some winners! So, read on below to find our best horse racing tips for this Saturday, August 6.

Doomben, Race 1 – 2. Hang Five ($3.80)

This sets up nicely for Hang Five here with the favourite Spiritualised suspect at 1200m and drawn to work across him to find the front.

Hang Five doesn’t have the tactical speed to go with him but he does have a strong finishing burst and is proven at the trip, and with a couple of on pacers to keep the favourite honest, provided Thompson can keep him in touch, I suspect he can mow them down late.

Very nice horse going forward who is good enough to win first up.

Randwick, Race 4 – 5. Cotton Fingers ($10/$2.75)

It was an ugly sort of a watch for his backers last start but if he steps clean here, he could make a real race of this at good odds.

Just came out on the back foot last start, then urged along to take up a position, got a bit keen, then didn’t quite finish off.

We are entitled to expect better from Berry who rarely gets it wrong twice in a row.

Like the fact he backs up here against a few that are early on in their campaigns and really like what he has been able to do since the stable change.

You will know if he is in this after they go 200m, and it is worth having an each way ticket for the ride along.

Doomben, Race 6 – 4. Joviality ($3.20)

Hard to go past a mare in form and I’ve really liked her two runs since being transported to the QLD stable.

She sprinted very quickly to win last start to put a margin on them. She had probably done enough on the line but was stepping up in trip, and coming off those sluggish Sydney tracks and copped another heavy track that day.

This track will be a lot kinder to her, she is rock hard fit, drawn well, Orman takes his pick and sticks, and you just had to be impressed by how she quickened last start.

She does that again when produced from the gun draw and they won’t be able to go with her.

Flemington, Race 5 – 3. King of Sparta ($2.65)

Quality galloper who Team Snowden really pick their targets with, and I’d suggest having a look at the straight six just shy of spring is by no means a coincidence.

His wins and his racing pattern suggest he will thrive on this type of racing and he could be a real player back at Flemington over the carnival. Very strong win second up off a month break between runs.

He hits this third up on a fortnight backup. Looks a good thing provided the Melbourne weather doesn’t turn really nasty and we end up on a bog track.

Randwick, Race 8 – 1. Count De Rupee ($6.00/$2.20)

Whilst getting back to a decent surface might turn the form guide on its head for a lot of the cattle that have been ploughing over heavy tracks this winter, you get to start with a blank canvas with these quality fresh horses.

Really love this bloke, really loved his trial where he could have covered the winner Forbidden Love if asked. Love the relationship Brock Ryan has with him, and I expect him to give him another peach here and power over the top of them.

Maps well, drawn well, gets his preferred surface and has an excellent fresh record.

Very hard to go past at close to each way odds.
