He’s looking to get off to a hot start with midweek action at Sandown and Gosford on Wednesday, let’s take a look at a few to keep an eye on…

Sandown

Race 2 – Audacious Heart – $11

Audacious Heart certainly ran into a smart one last start when run down by Maid Of Iron, but was brave and certainly did enough to the clock to warrant another look. At the double figure quote she looks overs here, and is well worth an each way play.

Verdict: Backing Audacious Heart at $11/$3.50.

Race 4 – Rutherford – $5.50

It was an arrogant first up win last outing at Geelong, and a similar level of performance here would see it go back-to-back without too much trouble. Has drawn well and looks a good bet at the price.

Race 8 – Kuzco Lad – $5

Kuzco Lad just went down in a photo by the smallest of margins by Unfair Dismissal last start at the 1500m. The drop in trip to 1400m should suit the Waterhouse & Bott runner, with a repeat of last start’s effort enough to get the job done here.

Verdict: Backing Kuzco Lad at $5.

Gosford

Race 5 – Elegant Grace – $8.50

This looks a winnable first up race for Elegant Grace for the strong Kris Lees / Brenton Avdulla combination. She was racing in a higher grade than this last prep and accounting herself well, and looks a good each way chance at the quote on offer.

Verdict: Backing Elegant Grace at $8.50/$3.
