Craig Williams won the 2019 edition of the Seymour Cup onboard Admiral’s Joker. A Shin Rook and Chapada finished second and third respectively, while Heptagon rounded out the first four. After winning, Admiral’s Joker went on to place second in the Group 3 Chatham Stakes.

Although the race doesn’t have the prestige of many of the metropolitan races, some decent horses have still claimed victory in the Seymour Cup. Included in that bunch is Our Lukas and Balf’s Choice.

Admiral’s Joker clocked 1:37.79 to win the 2019 Seymour Cup, however, it wasn’t the fastest time the race has seen over the last 20 years. That honour belongs to Dane River, who ran 1:34.38 to win back in 2002. The Seymour 1600m track record is 1:33.50, which Zaparri ran back in 1990.
