The Paris Lane Stakes is a 1400m Listed race for horses aged four and older that is held at Flemington Racecourse. The handicap race has a total prize pool of $140,000 and in 2020 will be run on Saturday, October 3. That is the same day as the Group 1 Turnbull Stakes.
The Shawn Mathrick-trained Rich Itch won the 2019 edition of the Paris Lane Stakes, with Romancer and Music Bay making up the placings. Later in the spring, Rich Itch would run in the Group 3 Chatham Stakes, however, failed to place.

The race takes its name from one of the greats of the track, Paris Lane. In 1994 he won the Caulfield Cup, Mackinnon Stakes, and also finished second in the Melbourne Cup.
Some decent horses have won the Paris Lane Stakes over the years. Gathering claimed victory in 2010, while Fawkner, who won multiple Group 1s over his career, won the race in 2012.
Rich Itch ran 1:22.67 to win the Paris Lane Stakes in 2019 but the fastest time in the race over the last 20 years actually came in 2018. That year, Eckstein clocked 1:22.19 to beat Spanner Head and Plein Ciel.
