The Kyneton Cup is a 2000m handicap race held at Kyneton Racecourse in Victoria. It has a $125,000 prize pool and in 2020 will be run on Wednesday, November 4, the day after the Melbourne Cup.

Midterm won the 2019 Kyneton Cup for the Cerchi stable. Double You Tee finished second, with experienced galloper Pacodali placing third and Gundown rounding out the first four. Midterm then went on to run in the Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Group 2 Zipping Classic.

Despite there being no Listed or Group races on the card, the Kyneton Cup is the highlight of the Kyneton racing calendar. Jockey Linda Meech was the star of the day in 2019, winning three races and placing second in another two.

Midterm clocked 2:06.30 to win the 2019 Kyneton Cup, a time which was well behind the 2000m track record. That belongs to Gypsy Invader, who ran a super quick 2:01.10 back in 1990.

1st – Midterm (2:06.30)
2nd – Double You Tee – 0.1L
