The City Tatt’s Club Cup is a 2400m Listed race held at Randwick Racecourse in Sydney. It has a prize pool of $140,000 and is run under quality handicap conditions for horses aged three and older. In 2020, it will be run on Saturday, October 24.
Master Of Wine won the 2019 City Tatt’s Club Cup for the Hawkes stable. Maurus finished second, with Master Of Arts and Naval Warfare finishing third and fourth respectively. The City Tatt’s Club Cup was the last race in the spring that Master Of Wine ran in.

As with many Listed and Group races in Australia, trainer Chris Waller has had great success in the City Tatt’s Club Cup recently. He has claimed victory three times over the last six years, winning with Mulaqen, Junoob and Exoteric.
No jockey has quite been able to replicate that success, although Tim Clark has won the City Tatt’s Club Cup three times over its last 13 runnings.
In 2019, Master Of Wine clocked 2:29.54 to win the City Tatt’s Club Cup, which was a solid time but the race has seen faster. Maluckyday, who won the race in 2010, ran 2:28.37 to claim victory.
